Shoe engineering is very advanced art. It's about design ergonomics and quality. Needs proper qualified engineers to design standard product. Raw leather is abundant in Pakistan and this industry has great export potential.

The only thing we lack in quality is the comfort if shoe . Manufacturers in Pakistan use the same old shoe lasts which doesn’t give a proper comfortable shape of shoe for foot and that’s why goras don’t really like it. On the other hand in India they are using new lasting techniques and that’s why India is becoming big exporter. We need to improve our methods of manufacturing to compete in international market.
