@@timjenkins502 true that. Addicted to chaos, I've said it many times... Bands that have Irreplaceable and unmatched unduplicated and can't be imitated... It's the kind of bands I like. No bands has ever sounded like nor ever will, Megadeth, Gojira, Type O Negative, Alice in Chains which is the only exception of the group as far as bands that came out of the grunge Seattle scene in the early 90s... Because they've still did lead solos had a one-of-a-kind sound and of course... Layne Staley on vocals what soul he had rest in peace. But it seems like the singers with the most Talent and irreplaceable sounds have left us to recent and were the greats of all time. Peter Steele of Type O Negative you've got to listen to some of that. And as the lady oh, I meant menu I recommend... Love you to death off of October Rust. But anyway Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, Chris Cornell Soundgarden, Scott Wyland of Stone Temple Pilots, just to name a few. But as far as the subject at hand, Megadeth's addicted to chaos... One of their best as far as I'm concerned. But wow, love how you guys Embrace music that due to lack of musicianship almost didn't make a comeback. Keep rocking

When Dave went back to remix and remaster this album, for some reason a lot of the original vocal tracks had been damaged or destroyed, so he had to rerecord a lot of the vocals. Keep in mind this was in 2004, so 14 years after the original recording. That's why it sounds so different from the original

Marty's story about 'Five Magic': I'm quite pleased with the main solo in the middle of this tune. The rhythm underneath the solo is in some crazy time signature and I managed to do something with the solo that makes the whole section sound a little less progressive and a little more eerily aggressive. I was having a hard time nailing the fast thrashy pedaling rhythm part towards the end, so Clink gave me one of Slash's guitar picks that was lying around and then I nailed the part in one take. Magic!

The chorus vocals and the overall sorta discordant sound sounds great to me. It's a real journey of a song. Plus I like the less popular hidden gems on metal albums. Sometimes they prove to be the better tracks imo.

Rust in Peace is probably the best metal album in history, and certainly top 5 with all entries either Megadeth or Metallica in the top 5-10 slots. Mustaine's music is on all of his and the first 2 Metallica albums. So Mustaine is the most important singular metal music contributor in history in my humble view. He help start Metallica and get them to their first record deal, and after being fired created Megadeth. I'm unaware of anyone with as impressive of a resume. Ozzy is probably close with Sabbath and his own group.

I saw Megadeth live about 10 years ago in Baltimore and they performed Rust in Peace in its entirety. Such a great night!

bro, rust in peace has been my most played tape since it was first released. I bought it twice on tape because after playing so much it wore out. then I bought it twice on cd, cranked it so much it was too scratched to play without having a disc error lol. now I have it mp3 on my phone with the rest of my tunes, so they'll never wear out again unless I get a borked, corrupt file lol

Dave Mustaine really brought out a whole new level when remixing and remastering Rust In Peace, the same with so far... so good... so what! Dave had to re-record the vocals for this song because he couldn't find the original vocal tracks at the time.

Fun fact: Dave Mustaine MegaDeath Lead Guitar and Vocals was once upon a time a member of Metallica ... fired from the band due to his drug and alchool adction. At the age of fifteen, he rented an apartment for himself and has started dealing drugs to survive. One of his clients was almost always broke, but worked in a record store, and offers albums by such as Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest to pay off debts, that molds of his preference for the heavy metal. In the late 1970s, Dave began learning guitar - notably with a rich B.C. In 1981, Mustaine met Lars Ulrich (Metallica´s drummmer) through an ad in a newspaper called Recycler, and joined Metallica, along with Ron McGovney on bass. Mustaine says in his autobiography that his first expulsion from Metallica took place in the summer of 1982, in a rehearsal at Ron's house. When he arrived, his dog got out of his car and jumped on the hood of Ron's Pontiac GTO car. James Hetfield hit the dog hard, which Dave didn´t let by. As they entered Ron's house, threats and insults began, until Dave told James to be quiet ior else he would get punched in the mouth. Ron tried to defend James, and Dave eventually punched James and elbowed Ron, who fell on the equipment. Dave's friend Rick Solis stepped in and broke up the fight. At that time James expelled Dave. But Dave rehearsed with the band less than twenty-four hours later, after apologizing to everyone. His definitive departure from Metallica took place on April 11, 1983. After performing two shows, Dave woke up in the morning with the entire team around him with their bags packed. Dave returned to California by bus without a single dollar on a four-day trip. Even leaving Metallica, Dave created most of the lyrics, riffs and solos from the band's first album Kill 'Em All and contributed to two songs from the second Ride the Lightning. Leaving Metallica he vowed to build a better and more famous band then Metallica.

I like how every Megadeth song you review, you’re like,”This is the best one ever!” I’m here to tell you, I suffer from the same problem! This one! No that one! It’s a great problem to have! FYI, that twerking girl that randomly appears, OMG, I bust out laughing cause she appears when I least expect it! Keep em coming!

If you're into reading fantasy novels, you should read the book that inspired the song, Lyndon Hardy's "Master of the Five Magics". It was published in 1980, about 10 years before the song was released.

If you have not yet heard anything off of the Dystopia album you should definitely check out "The Threat Is Real" and follow it up with the title track "Dystopia." The two official videos are linked and tell a story.. with "Dystopia" being the closing sequence of that story. Even if you just listen to the audio for reaction channel/copyright purposes you definitely need to see the videos. ;) Peace
