    Hey Dave, for the past 10 days me and my wife have been in an intensive care unit with our newborn son for 12 to 14 hours a day. Super scary and frustrating situation. Your videos have kept me calm and happy. Reminding me that this little guy is going to be ok, and he will have his own iRacing account as soon as he can reach the pedals on the rig at home 😊 Thank you Davey boy! Truly

    Loved the race! But! Let's be honest, Dave. The guy 2 positions back did what anyone would do. He saw smoke on the left and went to the right. You actually did what no one should do. A 180 with people coming up on you. Anyway, it all started with Mustafa not giving you enough space, sadly. You definitely should have been more aggressive on his previous attempts.

    You gave him a lot of room Dave. What you do and I’ve seen you do it a lot. Whether you’re on the inside or outside with your move, when you get to the braking zone you slooowwwy sneak back over blocking their entry 😊 not a lot but enough to upset the entry. Even though you gave him room through the corner you altered his entry and it slowed his exit. No live officials you’d get away with that regularly 😊Good race, hood your brake 😉

    On the subject of brake bias I wish and someone correct if I'm wrong but I wish iRacing would have pre-defined brake bias settings. Like Dave when you get to that heavy braking zone I wish you can have pre-set where you press a button and it goes to the bias for that turn just like in F1

    A lack of spatial awareness at that moment from him. It is difficult to judge distances in sim racing at times, though. In the cockpit, that track doesn't look all that wide, but in the TV cam it looks wide enough to land two 747s side by side in places. I've had that before. Having a good battle with someone, leaving each other plenty of room and then BANG! Great battle up till then.

    I feel "hold your brakes" is taken too literal, its ment to stop people already frustrated by making a mistaken ruin someone elses race trying to make up for a mistake(us mortals dont make up time we only lose it). Unless your three wide If your parked on the racing line "holding your brakes" your 100% at fault if soneone runs into you at race pace, in fact unless its entirely unsafe to do so its your duty to clear the racing line. Too many people yelling hold your brakes while a car is still sliding Leaving four black streaks while not bothing to lift and deciding too chose the direction the car is sliding towards.

  • @fommil
    @fommil25 күн бұрын

    You are being more than fair by calling it a racing incident. The other guy was 99% at fault and your part in that is only in not guessing that he'd be like that. Bad networks aren't an excuse, basic physics should have told him you needed room and he would have been penalized in any stewarded race, he's experienced enough to know what he's doing there, his "win" was without honor. That said, you should have stayed still!!! Poor guy behind was trying to avoid both of you and would have reasonably assumed you'd hold your brakes (the predictable thing). Glad you sorted it out with him after the race.
