I love north korea

The Republic of Korea is one of the most unique and interesting countries I've ever visited. I was amazed by the local people, atmosphere, incredible food, well-thought infrastructure of cities, and overall cleanliness. It is just like a picture of the future, while some western countries still live in the past.

@@Amrabot2000 Daegu is also a great city to travel to. Starting from Daegu, it is easy to visit nearby cities such as Gyeongju, Hapcheon, Pohang, and Cheongdo on a one-day course. Gyeongju is a very famous tourist destination, and Hapcheon is home to one of the largest temples in Korea. Cheongdo has a variety of pretty and stylish large cafes that blend well with nature, and if you go to Pohang, you can see the East Sea, which was the most refreshing sea I've ever seen. Of course, Daegu itself has many good tourist attractions.

Also Jeju language is very different from Korean language. As a South Korean, I can understand most of the North Korean language. Because it was the same Korean language even 70 years ago. However, Jeju language is completely incomprehensible to Korean speakers. One of my school friends from Jeju island used Jeju language mixed with Korean when talking to their parents. Some vocabulary of Jeju language is derived from Mongolia. Jeju Island was ruled by the Mongol Empire (Yuan Dynasty) in the 14th century and was used as a military base to invade Japan. Mongolia burned all the mountains of Jeju Island and turned them into pastures for raising horses. So, the forests around Mt. Halla disappear and there is a flat area that is good for raising horses. I don't know if it's the influence of Mongolia, but Jeju Island is famous for horses. It's famous for South Koreans as a place to experience horseback riding. In Jeju Island, the walls built by resistance forces to resist the Mongols remain. In ancient times, Jeju Island was not ruled by the kingdoms of the Korean Peninsula and had their own independent kingdom. Tamna Kingdom and Juho Kingdom are typical examples. Although the current Jeju language is included in the Koreanic language, there is also a hypothesis that the language used in ancient Jeju island may not be Koreanic. It can be a Ryukyuan(Japanese) or Austroaseanic language.

Lots of historical places, beautiful place to visit

I did an exchange semester in South Korea last year, from late winter to early summer. I lived in the country for 5 months, mostly in Seoul - but also visited Yeosu, Gyeongju, Busan, Jeju Island - among other places. Hands down the best time of my life, I'd go back in time without giving it a second thought if I had the chance. Not just the pretty architecture and landscapes are nice, but also the food, the public transport system, the people (if you are polite and try to speak a bit of Korean), its many ways of making things convenient, its culture and history, I could go on. If you would like to see East Asia, I HIGHLY recommend Seoul and South Korea as a whole.

I am Korea. Most foreigners visit Seoul when they travel to Korea, but the provinces in Korea are also very good. If you come to Korea for a trip, it is good to go to Seoul, but I recommend you to go to the provinces 👍

when people travel to Korea or Japan from europe or the states, i always recommend them to travel to Korea AND Japan. flight ticket betwee Korea and Japan isn't so expensive and it's kind of a waste to travel that far for 1 country only.

Tongyeong is the most beautiful city in south korea which is located near geoje or busan. better than yeosu. you will see the most beautiful sea view on the top of the mireuk mountain. take the cablecar! also seorak mountain in sokcho city is the most beautiful mountain which has the most beautiful sea view and beautiful rocks.

This Canadian would love to go to South Korea. I have also heard that they have some of the biggest churches in the world. Also the music that was playing, was that South Korean? Also would like to see the border between the two Koreas.

Those are Yoido full gospel church in Seoul and Panmunjeom in Paju (city) Gyeonggi (province).

be careful, some of these mega churches are actually cults.

Korea has a very long history. It would be much more fun to travel to any country knowing the history of the region. And Korea is a country with four distinct seasons. The atmosphere is definitely different depending on when you go. I personally recommend April-June and September-November. Pretty flowers and plants spread out on every warm road and trail. It is very hot in summer from July to August, snow from December to February, and very cold.

I am Korean. I would rule out Suwon and Incheon. They don't really have much and I don't know why they were included. I would add Sokcho (&seorak mountain)

한국의 7월 8월은 한여름으로 너무 습도가 높아서 엄청 더워요, 생각만으로도 정말 끔찍하네요 아주 그냥 미쳐버립니다 딱히 여행하기 좋지는 않아요 하지만 여름만이 가진 매력적인 날씨와 아름다운 경치를 만끽할 수는 있죠 참고로 여름, 장마철에 들어서면 몇 날 며칠 비가 아주 많이 내려요 마치 다른 나라의 우기처럼요 또 한국은 11월 중순부터 2월 초까지는 추워요 특히 한겨울인 12월과 1월은 매섭게 추워서 끔찍한 욕이나올 수도 있습니다 지구상에서 겪어보지 못한 아주 짜릿한 추위를 맛보게 되리라 😂😂 하지만 한국의 겨울이 주는 동양미와 멋스러움이 어우러진 근사한 설경이 있죠 한국의 전통가옥인, 한옥과 하얀 눈은 그야말로 감동입니다 절경이죠... 그래도 너무 추우니까 겨울에는 한국 오지마세요!!!! 참고로 한국의 겨울은 삼한사온으로 3일 춥고 4일 따뜻하죠!!!! 그러나 간혹 삼한사온과 관계없이 추위가 쭈욱 지속될 때도 있으니까 조심할 필요가 있습니다 😂 한국의 한여름과 한겨울은 무엇을 상상하든 그 이상의 더위와 추위를 가져다 줄 테니 한국 여행을 계획한다면 계절의 특성을 잘 파악하시는 게 좋을 것 같습니다!!!! 참~ 계절마다 다채로운 재미를 더해주는 한국입니다 😂😂😂 마지막으로 한국은 대도시가 아니어도 한국 어딜가나 특색있고 훌륭한 인프라와 전세계적으로 알아주는 치안!! 다채로운 한식, 그리고 좋은 사람들이 있기에 즐거운 여행이 될 것 입니다 한국에서 맛과 멋을 느껴보시기를...
