Amazing Northern Lights - The Sky Exploding in Color

My Best Aurora Video - Early this morning the northern lights were fast moving, vivid colorful streams of light in the sky. This video is two minutes long, raw, real-time, and unedited. Shot in 4K @ 30 frames/second. I encourage you to enlarge this video full-screen to see the delicate details and motion. It was amazing to see. Auroras like this are rare and exciting. Saturday morning, March 13, 2021 @ 12:30 a.m. Fairbanks, Alaska.

    Hi. Beautiful aurora vid. Where exactly was this taken in Fairbanks? I am going there next week to try to chase this beautiful auroras. Also, what type of camera (gopro, iphone, etc...) did you use? Would appreciate any info. Thank you.

    Camera: Canon R5. Lens: Canon 24mm @ f/1.4. This video was shot just one mile north of downtown. I recommend that you drive north of Fairbanks to Murphy Dome. Or drive north to Cleary Summit. Get away from city lights and hope for a clear sky. Plan to be out much of the night because the aurora can appear suddenly and disappear just as quickly. This intense aurora lasted only two minutes. Good luck.
