I hope the next pilot flying her (if he/she doesn't know) will not be puzzled whenever 851TB is broadcast on channel, hearing "Steve-o" all the time. This is the first airport I travelled to as a child (Tarbes) to visit Lourdes and they gave me the "baptism of flight" sheet certificate. It was a Dc9 by Alisarda (then Meridiana). I visited the cockpit too during flight (it was around 1990) and i remember cpt show me turns by rotating the hdg knob.

    Amazing add on. I like to study my planes as if I was going to fly them in real life. I read the POH, watch real life videos, etc. With so many high quality add-ons being released I find it hard to choose. I've just picked up the comanche, but now this just looks so cool I may get it too.

    My two queries about the aircraft are answered here, those being the need for rudder trim and the presence of the torque limiter in 750 mode. What an excellent video in terms of information, presentation and knowledge. Thank you very much indeed.

    Very detailed and instructive video, placed the model in my wish list. Incidentally, the aft-displaced horizontal stabilizer hints us at the Socata heritage of this airplane, the feature was a trademark of the "TB series", some of the coolest-looking general aviation aircraft out there.

    I was torn between the two but I'm going to get the TBM, mainly for 2 reasons: The TBM has comprehensive failures and it comes with a working weather radar. As I understand it, failures will be a future expansion in the PC-12 and the weather radar will be functional in a future update, so it seems to me that the TBM is the more complete package at the moment.

    Looking forward to trying this in VR as some cockpits just don't hold up (The Black Square King Air is a nightmare to use in VR) but this is looking really nice! Like many, the stock TBM930 is one of my favorite "put around" planes so this is going to be an instant buy for me when it is released.

  • @after_midnight9592

    @after_midnight9592

    10 ай бұрын

    I regurarly fly King Air in VR and the only issue that comes up is in night time, when you can't exactly see the switch position with only the backlight. I have to flick to flashlight for a moment. In daytime I see no problem. Once all the switches are set before takeoff, it's just the radio tuning, autopilot (which you have to switch up to the front panel) and power management. I hope they'll (or some other dev) make King Air in full fidelity someday, with proper detailed external model, sound pack and EFB.

  • @JohnVanderbeck

    @JohnVanderbeck

    10 ай бұрын

    @@after_midnight9592I have two main complaints about the King Air in VR: 1. The "rear" center pedestal, where you have a ton of vital in flight controls (such as the AP) in a position that is rather awkward to interact with in VR (At least for me, everyone is different) 2. The annunciators are, at least on my Quest 2, impossible to read because the backlight and the text blend together. It isn't a resolution thing but a contrast thing. Those two issues together just make the aircraft not fun for me to fly. Now obviously this is just a simulation of the real aircraft, so I can't "blame" anyone and say fix it. This is just how it is :) But it has made me more aware that certain cockpits just are more fun to use in VR than others. This one is looking pretty sweet and can't wait to get my hands on it. The Black Square Caravan is pretty solid, though I hate the HSI because that large flag in the top left makes it hard to see the bug, and not a fan of the altimeter's pressure window as it is very hard to see and get precise. The cockpit in this thing however, and this really old school EFIS is looking pretty sweet! Anyone know when it is supposed to come out?

  • @after_midnight9592

    @after_midnight9592

    @@JohnVanderbeck Yeah, for the autopilot panel, you have to click on the announciator panel above the attitude indicator. That brings up the AP buttons, making it much easier to use.

  • @magneticmonopole

    @magneticmonopole

    10 ай бұрын

    You can always update PMS GTN750 navdata with a Navigraph subscription, but the TDS GTN750Xi can't be updated. Because the TDS version utilizes the real Garmin Trainer software which uses it's own file extension that is far different than what Navigraph uses. The only way to update navdata in TDS GTN750Xi is to have a Jeppesen subscription, which is extremely expensive for flight sim purposes. When I was about to decide whether I should buy the PMS or the TDS version, I was quite suspicious with navdata issue. But I chose the TDS anyways and I never had an "out dated nav data" situation when filling in the flight plan.

    Almost no engine noise. Compared to Steveo1kinevo plane.

    You barely hear engine noise in his videos unless the engine is in beta. I imagine the headset experience is simulated here.

    Sadly this plane is supposed to save its state but is often reseted so it doesn't work. Black Square knows that issue but has no solution.

    warum sind eigentlich turboprop maschinen wirtschaftlich? ChatGPT: Turboprop-Flugzeuge kombinieren die Technologie von Düsentriebwerken mit Propellern und sind aus verschiedenen Gründen wirtschaftlich, insbesondere im Vergleich zu reinen Düsenflugzeugen oder Kolbenmotorflugzeugen. Kraftstoffeffizienz: Turboprop-Maschinen sind in der Regel kraftstoffeffizienter als Düsenflugzeuge, besonders bei niedrigeren Geschwindigkeiten und auf kürzeren Strecken. Sie können bei niedrigeren Geschwindigkeiten effizienter operieren, da Propeller effizienter sind als Düsentriebwerke in diesem Geschwindigkeitsbereich. Betriebskosten: Die Betriebskosten sind oft niedriger, da Turboprop-Maschinen weniger Kraftstoff verbrauchen und die Wartung von Propellermotoren kann weniger kostspielig sein als die von Düsentriebwerken. Leistung: Turboprops haben in der Regel eine bessere Leistung bei Start und Landung, was ihnen ermöglicht, auf kürzeren Landebahnen zu operieren. Das erweitert die Auswahl an Flughäfen, die sie bedienen können, insbesondere in abgelegenen oder ländlichen Gebieten. Vielseitigkeit: Ihre Fähigkeit, auf kürzeren Landebahnen zu landen und zu starten, sowie in niedrigeren Flughöhen und bei schlechteren Wetterbedingungen zu operieren, macht sie vielseitig und geeignet für eine Vielzahl von Einsatzzwecken. Anschaffungskosten: Turboprop-Flugzeuge sind in der Anschaffung oft günstiger als Düsenflugzeuge. Auch die Ersatzteile und die Wartung können kostengünstiger sein. Niedrigere Geschwindigkeit und Reichweite: Obwohl Turboprop-Flugzeuge langsamer und mit geringerer Reichweite als Düsenflugzeuge sind, sind sie für viele regionale und Kurzstreckenflüge ausreichend und wirtschaftlich sinnvoller. Langlebigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit: Turboprop-Motoren sind für ihre Langlebigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit bekannt, was die Lebensdauer des Flugzeugs verlängern und die Betriebskosten senken kann.

    All these other companies that are looking to charge a high dollar amount for an aircraft need to take notes from this plane, as well as SWS, Fenix, and PMDG. This is what we, the sim community, are wanting. Many of us are willing to pay for it, but we still want value for our dollars. When these other companies cut short the details and technical side, then “drop” the price by $10 isnt going to be acceptable for many of us.

    But it is for most simmers. You can figure it out for your self: 1: sell 5.000 Copies for 100€ and invest a year, or sell 50.000 copies for 30€ and invest a few days into copying systems from a default plane

    @@Jannik_Stein …true. I can see that. But then at the same time, they get terrible reviews, so I would be curious to see what the numbers actually are. How many sales they make compared to sales for something like the SWS Kodiak. Would be interesting

    I do like this....... however it's not for me. I have the Kingair and Bonanza from them and this is just more....... meh. Sorry but it's now a little boring and prosaic, to me. I'm waiting for the SWS PC-12, personally. And the Comanche right now provides me with just about the definitive GA experience. Nice video as always, sir.
