    We have lived in and travel in 2 different New Horizon Majestics and dealt with Cole on each build and we couldn't be more happy. We do pull with a Ram 5500 that is equipped with a Classy Chassis hauler body.

    There is an older New Horizon parked in my small town. It has the 4 leg hydraulic leveling. While parked, the wheels on one side are 4+ inches off of the ground and it just doesn’t budge. The name decals are faded but the quality hasn’t. No substitute for a good build. Thanks again for your show.

    It’s a beautiful camper, but I don’t really care for the color of the wood throughout, and the cabinets. But what’s nice is these campers are customizable! I’m loving the living room furniture, very nice!!

    OK, now I have to say something... I would never tow behind a 5th wheel. But the best thing about the Constitution of a New Horizon is that you can mount a Hydraulic motorcycle lift behind your fifth wheel. New Horizons has that capability that gives you the best of both worlds 🌎

    That is a beautiful unit for sure. However the wiring running to that generator seems to be in an very precarious position. I can see road debris creating a problem. Nice review once again.

    Love the natural wood in the RV really makes it more like a home. Bathroom is nice. Finally a bedroom with lots of leg room to get out of the bed. Great hiding spot in the bathroom closet. They know how to build a RV different from the others on the market.

    So grateful for the time, effort and knowledge you put into your reviews. I watch your show faithfully because your consistency of reviews is above all others. This rig goes beyond words. I’m not crazy about some of the wood tones but that’s personal preference. In thinking about what we would need to full time in this so my husband and I could work from the road, I would replace that time 2-person table with a long desk that extends from the top of the wine fridge to the wall in the left. Put office storage underneath if there is room - and put 2 chairs at it. Enlarge the window for a full view. Please replace the “dinky” looking side tables by the couch with actual slim end tables. I see a pantry in the kitchen. So the door next to the entry door …. Is that a coat closet? I hate having no place to hang coats and dog leashes, etc. Especially full time. And I really missed hearing you tell us where we put our coffee makers. ❤ It makes the video feel not quite complete. 🙃 Much appreciation from the Midwest, home to multiple junk drawers!

    I agree with you, Myles, the woodwork in this RV is not to my liking, as it makes the interior too busy as there is too much contrast. The other mistake I noticed they made when building this was installing the dishwasher on the floor. It should be at counter height (there is only one dishwasher but lots of drawers so why sacrifice the convenience?) and the drawer UNDER could be used as a junk drawer. If his family is close to retirement age as was indicated in the story, then bending and stooping won't be in the cards for long. Obviously, he didn't consult his wife (or was he going to be the only one to do the dishes?) What is VERY nice is that none of the cabinetry has stiles so the access to the storage is easier to access such as the big pull-out drawer in the cabinet under the stovetop. It also looks like the dead space in the corner of the kitchen cabinet can be accessed through a door to the right of the loveseat. You didn't even mention the sink or other kitchen features which you usually do, so what happened there? The LazyBoy furniture is very nice and if the woodwork followed the same color scheme or was lighter with less contrast, this would have been much more attractive. Since the furniture is LazyBoy, do either/both make into a bed? I thought it very interesting information about why it is not a good idea to paint the cabinetry white. Nice touch to have a counter/side table on each side of the sofa and the bed. I would have asked for tables with storage drawers as they missed a bet in both those areas as when sitting on a sofa or in the bed, drawers are easier to access. All RV manufacturers should put pretty bedding and finishes like this in their RVs (Hear that, Forest River Cedar Creek?) as it makes the bedroom so much more appealing, light, and bright, and it's not that much of an expense. I wouldn't care for a TV in the bedroom, either. A very nice tour and a lot of information about why these RVs are so expensive. They are built to last!

    We currently own a 2015 Majestic we bought slightly used and use it between Montana and Arizona and it has been a fantastic unit. We are seriously looking at doing a custom Majestic unit in 2025. It would be awesome to see New Horizons use Valid slides like in Newell coaches, but I am not sure if it can be done and how much more weight they will add.

    JD, you must have a lot of requests for video reviews on these very high end units which are built at around 2 dozen units per year. Who is buying these? I would think most of your viewers are looking at units in the 80% range on a 10/80/10 bell curve, like around $150K max for a few times a year use of a 5th wheel RV. I think most would spend that added $100K these cost, to build a custom kitchen and/or master bathroom in their home, where they spend most of their time. Maybe I'm wrong? No doubt these are gorgeous rigs. For me, I miss your video reviews of the midrange 5th wheels and the trucks to tow them. Those type video reviews played a big part in my truck & 5th wheel purchasing decisions. Thanks for al you do. .

    We saw this unit and the other New Horizons at the Hershey show this week. There’s no doubt that NH has a high quality product. Unfortunately, they need to update their interior styling. This unit and the Majestic both look like they need an HGTV remodel. He’s “discontinuing” his white cabinets!!? That’s the trend! The furniture in this Summit is entirely out of place and mis-sized. I realize this Summit was built for a customer but NH needs to show units at the RV shows that are on trend. Hire a designer to finish the interiors - not just an engineer. We were terribly disappointed with the NH products in Hershey.

    Would this company build an end-truck/axle trailer with conventional semi turntable hitch, instead of the usual center-balanced axle group? The idea being to increase stability and durability and use a more capable and comfortable commercial type tractor. But the trailer would have a 35 to 40 foot length and slightly less than typical van height. Deploying a conventional semi trailer frame with single dually axle and airbags could even be stronger and cheaper than a stiffened RV frame, considering the millions of those manufactured every year.

    The heavier axles make it a stiffer/rougher ride? I imagine he meant the heavier springs that go along with the heavier axle would be what causes the stiffer/rougher ride, correct?

  • @cwtex59

    @cwtex59

    It has the MorRyde independent suspension which is not a axle that goes side to side . Each wheel is independent of each other . They are a torsion flex that has rubber pads that have a weight rating. So the heavier the rating the stiffer they are if you don’t have adequate weight on the rig . They also have shock absorbers at each wheel.

    @@cwtex59 Pretty much any contemporary DRW pickup can manage the GVW for a 5th wheel trailer. Where you'll first run out of capacity is the cargo rating to handle the transfer of the pin weight onto the truck. That's almost always the limiting factor. Glad yours is working out for you.

    This has to be a niche market at $350,000. For 20 yrs?……..as lovely as the design is, that is so much money, for something that loses that much value over the years. I would rather have a lake cabin that appreciates in value, but that does defeat the “See the USA concept “. To each their own.

    Not sure why such a high end unit does not use Azdel. Doesn’t make sense to me. Great review. Putting that generator in that location seems foolish with possible road debris hitting it. Should be better thought out at this price point.
