That was different! You're correct in that most people in the world have no idea about what's in Azerbaijan. Many don't even know the name. The desert areas reminded me of certain desert areas in Arizona, where there are extinct volcanoes, odd rock formations, and petroglyphs. But there are no mud volcanoes. That was cool, although it was worrisome to see you stepping on spongy soil. Looks similar to quicksand. Those oil pumpjacks did remind me of western Texas, which are full of them. Lastly, I had to laugh, because the GPS voice sounded exactly like my GPS voice. I definitely want to see more of Azerbaijan.

The GPS voice was so loud 😂 it was scary to step on that spongy soil. if you fall you’re not coming back
Fascinating geology there! Thanks for a great video! I lived in Russia in the mid-90s so I know all about Ladas! 😁

I watched this video just for the sake of the car. I haven't seen a live lada for a long time. Usually only in the form of rusty scrap metal
I live in Oklahoma and I am enjoying your beautiful tours from Russia my husband was in Siberia when the wall came down he worked as a welder and he loved the people there they were wonderful to him he took lots of medicine pictures of there kids and tools that they couldn’t get thank you so much I love the times with your aunt I also live in the country with very few people I pray that you will be blessed today
How interesting! I never heard of mud volcanoes! Thank you Slava!
thank you another place to great place to visit. Thank you God Bless
More Great stuff -- Thanks !
Good video
Slava, great video, as always!
Yes you're right, it reminds me of the desert southwest US. I can tell it was hot there by the perspiration on your forehead! Very interesting petroglyphs, I had no idea they were in Azerbaijan. Thanks for posting!
Great video! Thanks!
Давно я не видел живых жигулей да еще и в хорошем состоянии.
For one, I sure didn't know you have that kind of landscapes in Azerbaijan. Thanks for this discovery...and for letting us know a Lada is not a safe transport method 😁
Fascinating, entertaining and informative program, as usual for your channel 👍🏻. Slava, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and best wishes for a happy, successful and safe summer. 🤗❤️🙏🌎
that was awesome thanks for sharing. when you were in the states i was so wishing you were close to me so i could show you my world.... this is way cool thanks Slava for showing me your world as always awesome.

Very good video, it is so different to where I am used to going. Lada or a horse? Hard choice ☺️
Wonderful Trip 👍

Great video Slava!
You know you are the only KZreadr that can properly say what Azerbaijan and West Texas really look like. I don’t know anyone that has traveled and seen as much as the world has you have Slava. I wonder if you can find a Lada in West Texas but we know thanks to you we can find a Ural motorcycle there. Lada like a Russian tank you got to stop and fix it every hour.

yes I meant West Texas. if you bring a Lada to West Texas you will get Azerbaijan 😂
Wow, unbelievable! Great video. I lived in Arizona and New Mexico for many years, so much of this land looks similar, but then again, so alien. Thank you for sharing your exploits.
Fascinating!
Looks like fun. Being stuck in a car in the desert would be scary to me. Don't think I'd ever visit
Wow!! What a magnificent place! I was unaware of the existence of these mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. They are particular and I think also a little dangerous especially because the ground being muddy isn't it like walking on quicksand? However, the place is beautiful, even as an archaeological site, as are all those countries near the Caucasus. Thanks for this awesome video, as usual.
Slava, always great to see your tours of some great places. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very cool 😎 man ✌
Thumbs up!
I visited the mud volcanoes and Qobustan rock carvings in 2011. To my big surprise the mud volcanoes are cold. Apparently they are "driven" by gaseous outbursts. I also went there in a Lada from 1970. The taxi driver bragged about his car and said that modern cars are worse and only last 5-6 years until they break. His Lada was 41 years old and still worked fine.
What an adventure!

Very interesting. That would have sucked to be stuck in the desert. Hope u had plenty of water with you
Ya. Everything is fun and games. Playing in the mud and suddenly you are gone. 10000 years later they find a Slava fossil.

I know. if you fall in that mud volcano there’s no coming back. 😟 I wonder if that taxi driver ever comes back alone 😂
Slave, another fine production
I see you now travel on occasion with Eli, and have met Dari Step. Do you also hang with Roman? Love your stuff!!
What an odd place like on another planet. You are outside Russia,
Great video but the mud volcanoes are TERRIFYING!
Very cool! Some of that did look like Texas.

we live on the same planet John:) it’s funny how the similar conditions bring you the same result. when it’s hot and humid you get palm trees. when it’s hot and dry you get desert. when it’s cold like in Russia or Canada you get a lot of Birch trees :)

@@RussianPlus it’s true, except we don’t all have mud volcanos.
I want to see more footage of Qobustan, its carvings, and larger landscape! Cool shots included, though. Intriguing. BTW, here in the US, there are some geothermal mud spots/mud pots like that in Yellowstone in Wyoming- I recall being fascinated by them during some hikes in the woods there many years ago.
Welcome 🇦🇿❤️
What a great taxi driver!
It was enjoyable, different, and informative. I enjoy going places with you Slava. It's always fun and exciting and different. Yeah, the Lada had issues, but you made it safely through the ups and downs, and he made you breakfast, gave you a bun. I think you could have been more grateful and not become so upset when you were inconvenienced. He gave to you, you could have been more patient and understanding, yes? Life is about growing, and I am challenging you to grow. What if the brakes would have busted when you were on one of those steep descents? Now that would have been something to get upset about. You anger could have tempted him to take more chances that would have been very unsafe, more unsafe. Yes?
Lada and stuck. Good old Soviet times..
Lada is good by the brakefluid might be old and bad... In hot weather the water in brake fluid will easily boil and cause lock-up (and the following disappearing of brakes too because of vapor bubble in the lines).

wow, that is scary. they have 220 mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. One of them exploded in 2021 triggering a huge blast in Caspian oil and gas fields
Great video, please show us some more of the Russian landscape as I'm sure it's beautiful in places, thanks for sharing.
Land Cruisers are the best for this type of trip.
Thanks Slava!
Heartwarming how you equate this with Texas. Azerbaijan certainly seems like it, where you are, except for the mud volcano. A mud volcano would makeTexas more valuable. Ha ha, but not a lie.

It's AzerbaiJAN, with the emphasis on the last syllable, and it's a country that has been killing Armenians with Ruzzia's encouragement (as pootie the great intends to remake the USSR). So, Azerbaijan and its "president" (dictator) are NOT so great.
