Craftsmanship. I love it. I was a draftsman long ago and when I did a good one you just say to your self I did that. I used to restore radios from the thirty's they sure could solder then cool tunes too!

When I worked at National Steel in Michigan, I worked with motors that were larger than these. I could get inside the armature of one of the motors. 10000 horsepower and 7500 volts DC.

Yup. I worked at Dofasco in Canada. The very large mill motors that you climb into to change brushes. Not my favourite job. I did a stint in our motor repair shop and helped rewind them. As well as small dc motors. Almost all dc motors were rebuilt. Basic framed AC motors under, at the time, 25 hp were scraped. What a process. Highly skilled.

There's alot bigger electric motors out there than that. Not uncommon for Offshore Drilling Ships to have 6 to 8 MW electrically driven Thrusters and 1250 KW Main Drilling Motors. It was alot of fun to be able to work with equipment like this.
