Amazing Kitchen Decor Diy Idea Cheap and Easy to Do at Home

DIY Rustic decor with a chicken and coop theme. To make this creative craft, I used a wooden frame. If you want to do it yourself, it is also possible to use an old frame that you do not use. I placed 2 chicken figures with a simple drawing inside the rustic frame I made. Then, I transferred the drawing onto an XPS Styrofoam panel with a thickness of 2 cm and a hardness of 30-32 density. So this is the magic blue material you're wondering about. I used this styrofoam to make the chicken figure I drew three-dimensional. XPS Styrofoam is also used as the main material in making dioramas, models and 3D objects. Information on the use of this material is available at the end of the article. Also, the basket under the decoration I made was made with the thinnest gray cardboard. As you know, the main material of cardboard is wood. I harden it by applying diluted glue to the cardboard. I created a beautiful visual by painting it as a tree. I made simple chicken figures from styrofoam and made their beaks and combs using air-drying clay. I've made the same figures before using gourds. Thus, I obtained an easy-to-make and cute ornament. The styrofoam and frame I use are quite cheap. If you want to use an old frame, the construction of this decor is almost free. Of course, I assume that you are a person who has such hobbies, likes to do crafts, and has acrylic paints at home. Otherwise, you should add the cost of paint and brush to the cost of the decoration you will make :))) If you buy all the materials I used (acrylic paint, varnish, cardboard, clay, straw rope and styrofoam), you can make approximately 50-55 such products. How to use styrofoam for crafting ?
Which kind styrofoam used for crafts ?
I use XPS styrofoam panel in miniature and diorama making and in many of my artistic works. Although diorama creators know this material well, some people have not yet discovered it. XPS Styrofoam panel has a hardness level according to its density. It is sold in the market in three different thicknesses: 1cm, 2cm and 5cm. Bed sheet size is usually 120cm x 60cm. It is mainly produced as a building insulation material. I work with the variety with a density of 30-32. If you want to buy it, you should consider its density. Because low density XPS styrofoam sheet will never be useful to us. It crumbles when cutting, and it is very difficult to fill the pores when painting. I would never recommend it. I use PVA glue as styrofoam adhesive, but special styrofoam adhesive is also sold. Since its structure is not resistant to solvents such as acetone, it cannot be adhered with adhesives containing it. It can only be bonded with water-based adhesive. A hot blow dryer or hot air gun on a low setting can be used before painting to harden. Or, you can harden it by adding half of the glue to your paint while painting over it, as I did. The glue will change the color of the acrylic paint. Therefore, after painting with 2 layers of adhesive, paint only the top layer with acrylic paint. After the bonded layer dries, you can use fine sandpaper to remove any roughness on the surface. If you want your product to be more durable, you can cover the Styrofoam you have shaped with a thin layer of air-drying dough. Another thing you should pay attention to when making various designs from styrofoam is that the utility knife you will use has a sharp tip. You can also choose a hot wire machine for cutting. Your object made of styrofoam is durable as long as it is not damaged by pressing with a hard object.
