I watch these videos specially because I miss my mum and love seeing those hands they truely tell a story of hard work dedication and love for the family. When my mum was alive and every time I went home from abroad was like heaven, she used to ask me what I want to eat and would cook it at a drop of the hat. The labour was tiring but my mum made sure I got to eat all of the treditional dishes. Since my mums passing my older brother has started doing that. He is a great cook but I miss my mum so much .

I am truly amazed. All of the ingredients are freshly picked. Even the salt looked like it was mined from that area. This lady worked really hard to make this wonderful dish and cooking outside close to the nature is amazing. I am sure these people will live a very long life :)

I'm from the U.S and we do most of our cooking indoors unless we use the grill. But I've never seen many of these ingredients or cooking materials. Just watching this makes me want to eat and cook like this. Just go out and grab something of a tree or dig it out the earth. It's beautiful. Thanks for these videos. Happy to see grandma has a real knife although she doesn't use it except to crack eggs...and she has a whisk!! you go grandma! you're a whizz at that machete! you guys should start a business organising culinary tours to Sri Lanka for people to share in your placid and tranquil life and to enjoy the cooking. it will be a hit!! guaranteed 😁

El pan de sopa es x fuera asi aqui en Tabasco México, pero tampoco es castaña aunq es igual de parecido, pienso q es Jaca, y si ña venden en otros estados pero es muy cara. I visited a farming rice village near sigiriya last year and the woman cooked us fresh fish from the local pond and banana blossom curry and sambal made with fresh coconut lime onion garlic and chilli - one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had - I love Sri Lanka great people, great food. Thanks for the video.

1 - Para o nosso hábito culinário e paladar brasileiro, a comida dessa senhora é excessivamente condimentada. Mas amenizando essa diferença cultural, é excelente. Tanto pela sua simplicidade, como sobretudo pelo uso de alimentos naturais. Não trata-se em absoluto de uma gastronomia vegetariana, e muito menos vegana. Mas ao assistirmos aos vídeos, percebemos que é utilizado muito pouca carne animal. Com excelentes resultados. Sendo preciso dizer , que a cada vídeo aprendemos muito com a cozinheira, que constantemente nos surpreende com uma nova e inusitada receita. Como esse maravilhoso refogado de jaca verde, com coco e especiarias. Outro detalhe relevante, são os utensílios usados no preparo de cada prato. A meu ver bastante funcionais e práticos. Se fossem disponibilizados para venda, gostaria de adquirir alguns deles para a minha cozinha. Eu adoro cozinhar.
