Kendra, first, let me say I am so sorry about the loss of your brother. Unfortunately, I am no stranger to losing my loved ones way too early. I just wanted to let you know how much your post thrilled my soul and lifted me up as I was about to fall in battle if it were not for that simple post. It reminded me of that verse that says “to live is Christ but to die is truly gain“. That may not be verbatim, but it’s pretty darn close. I suffer from autoimmune issues, primarily Crohn’s and medication induced lupus. I was pretty much bed confined for the better part of 10 years. I had accepted that this was more than likely the way it was going to end. but three years ago God lifted me up from my deathbed, and it continued to help me stand . I have went to college when the pandemic hit to get my English lit degree. Being in college at 58 years old is quite an experience, but now I’m at a crossroads on which writing path to take having multiple directions I can take. I was leaning towards a fiction novel that I am working on went out of the blue. I find out that the name of the town which is central to the book has already been taken in a failed TV series. 😮 So yeah, things hadn’t been very peachy. Basically, just wanted to practically write an hour to tell you how grateful I am for your post. “ To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”

Oh my goodness! Kaleb, my kids and I are just coming from rehearsing this song. You should hear how we harmonized it. We did the original "Amazing Grace" for the first verse but the sang the chorus, "My Chains are Gone" as it is here. They haven't mastered it yet. When they do, we'll record it and I'll post it on KZread so you'll meet them too and hear it. Thanks for sharing this as well. God bless...

I love how you used the sustain pedal and reverb. This is amazing. I myself, only noodle on the piano (I can improvise some stuff) . I am a drummer, but I can't appreciate any musical work of art, and I have found one.

Hi Torie, I played this in the key of E flat.

All your videos say with lyrics but there are no lyrics I am confused lol - ohhh they're annotations...haha.

By looking at your hands you are playing out of D-major but it is actually E-flat major.

This is beautiful :) Would love to have the sheet music!
