Thank you for making this! I was considering the Funk Machine and the Dusk pedal and your post helped me decide on this. It just legitimately sounded great on bass and I'm excited about the prospect of being able to use an expression pedal as a bass wah and all of the other options in there as well. I also think it'll be cool to make some really nutty sounds.

Just got mine today. This thing sound amaaaazing! Totally fills the void of my old stolen Mu-tron.

If you're watching this and thinking about getting one,DO IT. The pedal is worth the price out of the box with the factory presets. The ability to load user presets from the website makes it a steal. Plug it into the editing software and you'l understand that it is indeed the ULTIMATE FILTER (and I have owned almost all of the legendary envelope filters)

You can get the exact same sounds with the C4. The C4 can run all spectrum presets. I did not know this before I bought the Spectrum, or I would have bought the C4. The C4 is basically the spectrum with way more synth features. Both are great pedal though.

Sounds like a Moog underwater. Kind of funky, I think with some tweaking I could work with this...

It seems with Source Audio that with 4 pedals you can have an entire pedalboard with everything under the sun. They put so much stuff in their pedals... I have the Aftershock and the C4, and already replaced 5 other pedals.

It's a little Super Mario inside :-)

I don't play funk music and normally have no interest in envelope filters. This changed my mind though. I can see using this in all sorts of genres.

They share presets on the neuro app so if have one of these pedals don’t get the other would be my advise The same is true with LA Lady and king maker also the mercury flanger and Gemini chorus WOW !!!!

Great review.He nails the PFunk filter sound. I bought one back in February and still just scratching the surface. Could you post the settings that are used on the Spectrum? Thanks

Just replaced the C4 with the Spectrum on my pedal board. It just feels more convenient to program but has all the essential features of the C4. Plus the community patches are so much more usable than those for the C4.

Really? As a C4 user I am curious to know what it brings knowing it is possible to load sprectum preset in C4. Why is it easier to programm?

It seems to be a perfectt studio tool for all kind of Pop, Funk, Hip Hop and and...produktions up to progressive Metal and Free Jazz. The posibilties and options are amazing.

Its important for company's to be willing to support the bass community and help there customers get good input on there products. I've watched a few of there accounts product review and there vert poorly explained. There probably worried you guys will give too honest of a review and the feed back wont be good on there end. Any way thank you for sharing your experience and responding much appreciated keep up the amazing reviews you guys are so help full I've bought almost all my gear based off your review and I've loved every thing so far!

Both sound great. The Spectrum is more versatile. The Funk Machine is a simpler analog design, which has its own appeal for purists

All good and well but I don’t really hear any of these effects for bass used on any songs. Before everybody shoots me, I’m sure there is so i see them as gimmicky. Some of the sounds sound like it would be fine in an opening tune to a kids cartoon or something lol. Apologies to anybody that disagrees. !!!

You need to listen to more funk, obviously 😉 Also we exaggerate here to make clear what these effects sound like. In normal music productions envelope filters are being used much more subtle

They way I like to use envelope filters isn’t working for such a demo. You can barely hear it and I think that wouldn’t make a good demo. This video was rather meant to show how much fun this pedal can be. At the end, what bassists will do with it might be a completely different thing. All I can hope to do is create interest in the topic

There are some other videos you can find that demo other sounds that might be more usable. Personally I want one of these because it can do the job of an octave pedal as well as filter.
