I just got some florida surf tackle rods. And paired them with Akios reels. I surf fish for pompano and other species here in Florida. It's a whole different world of rods/reels. Nice to be able to hit the other side of the bar without wading in each cast! I was suprised to see you all get pompano up your way.

That is so cool. I would love to watch that event live. Its seems like every round everyone started adjusting on accuracy and form. I dont know, i feel like the short swing pendulum doesnt put as much force as the longer pendulum cast. "Is that how you spell your dads name Albert...uhh I dont know 😂"

These conventions are so awesome to watch. It’s a balance of strength technique and gear. Kind of like the Golf Longest Drive or Baseball Homerun Derbys

Both those sizes are good to cast decent distances.. I am gona start exploring more ways to cast heavier baits and weights..

This cast can't be done on a pier.. and on a pier it's totally different especially if you can't cast of the backside.

It's a Italcanna vector A4, purpose built casting and too stiff for a fishing but it's a 14'10, there's other vectors all other 14ft which are good for fishing

This was in Kingsville this past weekend they were there for 2 days of casting... I only had shown up for the very end and got in about 6 casts or so.. trying out a few different combos but now I am gona start my own testing

Wonder if these guys will be able to cast a normal 14 ft with a standard multiplier like this.

Yes, all the casters here are fishermen and all fish regularly using these casts with standard reels, the best one in my experience for fishing is the nitro f15 by akios

What they did was on a cast you wanted measured you had these flags to stick into the ground with your number and weight class and then when the field was closed down they had 2 guys go out and use some kind of surveyor equipment and they were able to pin point everyone's cast... then they posted the distances for everyone to see..

@@teamsharkjunkies2916 gotta have the right gear. I would throw about 60-75 yards with a lamiglass custom 9' and 2oz snook jig. Then I got some 13' distance surf rods. And can cast a pompano rig and 4oz sputnik 100 yards or more. These guys are pendulum casting which loads the rod way more and produces a ton of power! Dangerous with beach goers around lol.
