I’ve done stone veneer masonry for several well known builders for over 40yrs and I’ve never needed a scratch coat, with zero failures.

Great project. I would paint the corners black, same color as windows frames. Cover them up with a tape and see if you like it.

Looks nice. Might be a summer project next year. Question, How did you do the drain for the sink? And did you run a gas line for the grill or is that on a propane tank?

  • @MichaelRGoede

Really awesome build. Did you need to spend anytime figuring out how to get air into the grill itself? I do see the small vent on the front, but did you have to make any considerations to ensure air flow to the flame? Thanks!

Very informative on the video. Question: how wide is it? I’m building a 15’ wide X24’long deck. On the outer edge is only going to be about maybe 12” from ground to bottom of joist. Not sure if I’m going to make a beam or attach outer board to 5 posts I’m going to dig. Not sure if i need more support though? Going 4’ deep on posts

Very nice. Thank you. Did you attach to a drain line or just put a bucket under the sink? It may sound like a silly question but I've heard it can be a pain connecting to the drain. I guess it depends on the existing plumbing.

I work with concrete tabletops and countertops all the time. Concrete is the last thing you want (in the long run) near greasy hamburgers, etc, off the grill. It looks nice for a short while, but no matter how good the sealer, the grease soaks thru. Try another wipeable material for the countertop.

I would read the directions of the grill manufacturer. The brand I bought stated 3" of a brick or other non combustible material. I do not think one layer that he did is enough. I also don't think he was a proper distance from the house.
