Amazing Depstech Endoscope - Everyone Needs One !
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I needed an endoscope in order to look into a void in my house and bought this one from Amazon:
www.amazon.co.uk/DEPSTECH-Inspection-Adjustable-Waterproof-Tablet-16-4Ft-dp-B08NT4GJ33/dp/B08NT4GJ33/ref=dp_ob_title_def
I paid the full price and receive no benefit of any kind from either Depstech or Amazon. It is an excellent product.

I just ordered one. Now I can do DIY colonoscopies for all my family and friends.
A great review of a handy piece of equipment.
Funny I just added this to my basket on Amazon a couple of days ago. Couldn’t make my mind up so you’re Video has convinced me to get it. Thanks 🙏

Hi Christopher, Cheers. Peter
What a timely demo Peter. I have literally had one of these in my Amazon Wish List for a few weeks. You’ve probably just convinced me to move it to my basket. Thank you for the info. Allan

I've owned for a while now, and whilst it performs well in circumstances like this video, it's useless if there is any insulation material in the cavity. Which seems like an obvious thing, but every time I've tried to use it, I've just got video of insulation that I didn't previously know was behind the wall/ceiling.
Helpful as I’ve just ordered one from amazon uk, so i can look behind my upvc sofit
thanks for sharing
Yes, I purchased one of those to find roaches in my block of apartments in NY. I live in the UK and only see those creatures when I’m in NY.

Hi Pat, Many thanks for such great support. Cheers. Peter
Hi Peter I bought a similar one from Lidl a few years ago and find it occasionally very useful. It's more rigid but much shorter so easy to control in a void but doesn't have the useful side view. I doubt it would be easy to control yours if much more of the length was used but it could be taped to a long fibreglass rod, such as I use to thread cables etc which would make it useable deep into a void with quite good control. @@KH-kl7qm @K H Yes, I have used it many times. I have done cavity walls, a drainage pipe, looked behind several cupboards and, most recently, under the seat of the car. It works brilliantly and I have had no problems at all. Peter
I got a 10 metre endoscope with identical phone wifi connection from Ali Express in 2017 for £15. No side camera though. Used it a handful of times only since then. Only issue I had was the refresh rate was quite poor out of the box. I tried several generic pieces of endoscope phone software I found with an internet search & one of them fixed the issue. No problem since then. Shorter lengths were available at cheaper price.

Hi David, Interesting that other software can be used with some devices. Cheers. Peter
I've had one of these for a while now. They're really useful and give a great image. It was one of those things like others have stated where they wanted one but never got round to actually buying it. I was like that but I bought something from Amazon and got a £50 voucher so was a bit of a no brainer. Mine came with a case but not sure if I bought that as an extra. Just a personal opinion but I really try to avoid buying anything from Amazon now.

Top notch Peter Good Fellow Handy for up skirting
All of the 'show it on your phone' devices suffer from the same issue. They are dependent on the vendors proprietary software supporting any phone system updates. When the vendor makes the unilateral decision to not update their software after it breaks you must make a decision... 'is it a door stop or trash?' Of course you could just dedicate the phone to be the display and never update it but ... l am sure you can figure out how I have come to this opinion.

That is exactly why I'm not sure I like this endoscope because I still need the phone and the app to use it. I assume I better off put a bit more of money and buy the one already with the display in the same set.

@@ruinunes8251 The ones with screens are expensive, over £300.00. Can you record of the bigger ones? What if you hardly used it? I suppose then one of the cheaper ones of Amazon would be useful. Need one, debating both.

The camera and lens are all contained in the black portion at the tip. There are no fiber optics running down the yellow portion. Only power and video wires run down the yellow section to the battery.

@@NewBritWorkshop Yea, no worries. No harm no foul. Yea, I've experienced that one myself... lol.
You see the problem with endoscopes for diy or professional work is that almost immediately the lense gets scratch and thats game over. Im sure they work brilliantly for looking down the bore of an engine or up somebody bottom but if you want to lets say look into a wall cavity through a hole drilled into the brick the second that lense touches stone its buggered.
Nooice!
It's probably just me but ... I found it quite confusing to work out which way was left or right on the camera images. Obviously the camera rotates with the optic fibre and doesn't have a way of rotating itself independantly. Nonetheless, it's an impressive tool for the money.

@@NewBritWorkshop Of course, if there was some sort of reference hair-line attachement in front of the camera lens, one could rotate the phone screen around to see a true left to right image. Just a thought.
Is great to look for termites inside walls. Don’t tell termite company s😂😂
0:19 I'm not sure, but I suspect that the signal is carried over the snake electrically rather than with fibre optics

It's via fiber optics for sure. Not enough place in such a small camera to have a video encoder in place. Wastes a lot of energy and gets got too.
Is it waterproof?
