Oh really i left the Philippines in 1998...so i wanna go.back to see what things are new to me.. before i left there was metropolis in alabang. There's also a uniwide mall in las pinas and they're constructing a skyway in bicutan to alabang maybe...and the decrepit NAIA. There's nothing much back then.

My sister like BGC she said as if you are in America. She buy a small studio condominium there she retired here in America has a house here and also in provinsiya its beautiful house as if you are in a 5 star hotel but she will sell it and keep the condominium for vacationing. Her house here in America is so nice too even the Electrician said She is number one nice house in thier area. He already see all the house in the area .Its good former President Fedel Ramos sell the Philippines military camp it's good to the economy of the Philippines have condominium,,shopping mall give job to the people

Yes, BGC and Makati are so modern 🙂

a common rule in Filipino cuisine is every condiments you see on the table are always DIPPING SAUCES. I've noticed this with every vloggers before, everyone assumes it goes to the rice when its meant to be dips. soy sauce with calamansi, and vinegar are all dips 😆

Underrated. Really, almost nobody points this out despite all the talk about Filipino food. Lots of foreigners out there don't eat Filipino food the right way because they often aren't aware that condiments and chilli are generally separated from the dish itself.

Hi Dan and Lynn, don’t be shy asking the waiters/waitresses how to use the condiments. I’m sure they’ll be happy to show you, or “google how…” Filipino’s common condiments are calamansi, chilli, soy sauce mixed together, spiced vinegar, liver sauce (Mang Tomas), banana ketchup, fish sauce, shrimp paste (alamang), fermented anchovies (bagoong). Most Filipino dish are salty, sweet and sour. It’s called “Ulam” these are dishes you eat with steamed white jasmine rice. When you see “SILOG” this means an “ulam” served with Siningag (garlic fried rice) and fried egg, like longsilog (chorizo/sweet sausage), hotsilog (red hotdog), tapsilog (marinated beef), bangsilog (marinated milkfish (bangus). As you probably already know we are probably the only country that loves Vinegar in almost everything, even in our fruit. Lol. Take care, stay safe in PH. :) 😊

oh no. the calamansi (round green thingy) and the chilli are for the soy sauce. that’s where you’ll dip the chicken 😊. the sour dip is vinegar. we usually use vinegar dip for sweet/savory food.

You may consider going to Tagaytay. It's near Metro Manila. Maybe more than an hour travel. You may stay there for a night. The scenery is nice in that area. Going back to Manila, you may side trip to enchanted Kingdom. Enjoy and be safe always. I like your simplicity. 😊❤️

That’s not Landmark. That’s Glorietta mall. Landmark is the department store you entered to go to Glorietta from Greenbelt. Actually, after Glorietta, there’s another mall there and that’s SM Makati. These malls are all connected and SM Makati is the one directly connected to the Metro Train or the MRT.

It's nice to know that you've extended you stay in the Philippines. For foreign tourists, they can stay in the country for 3 years maximum, without the need to exit. Just pay the extension fees for visa.

You miss a lot of foods in Jollibee like halo-halo,pancit palabok,peach mango pie all of them are Filipino traditional foods,you can never see and taste outside Philippines so don't miss to try them in Jollibee. You may try also the grilled chicken of Mang inasal really delicious and flavorful chicken with unlirice in chicken oil.

the vinegar sauce is for the fatty pork or other dry fatty ulams and sweet and sour for the lumpia. you can also make a sauce with the calamansi, chili and the soy sauce (the black sauce) or you can just use vinegar (the other sauce you poured in your rice), if you prefer that for your dipping sauce. if they have chicken oil, that's the one that is usually poured over the rice. don't be afraid to ask, filipinos are mostly friendly and loves to help especially foreingers whos willing to try local stuffs. enjoy!

@@DanandLyn hahaha nice to hear and its okey po. Actually its just a suggested common ways on how to use those condiments/ingredients. Generally filipino food, at the end of the day you can mix or match them according to your personal preference. Some use them, some dont, some have a more weirder secret combination and some even ask for more chillies/calamansi etc if its not enought for them or if its not readily available. Important is you enjoy it more to your taste po. 😉

Hello Dan and Lyn! This is my second time watching this particular video which led me to watch your other videos. I was so happy to see you both so happy in Makati and was even more happier when I watched your BGC video. Some vloggers make 2 videos a week. It's all up to you though. They cover what could be found in a country's convenience store or you riding the jeepney it is really a traditional ride aside from kalesa (you can find in Intramuros) in the Philippines. Most of our local vloggers do the ukay-ukay challenge too. Ukay-ukay is a thrift store of pre-loved items. There are a lot of them around our country. It could be a shop or a huge tent but in Manila, it's usually a shop. BTW, ukay means digging. You dig a pile of clothes or other stuffs from a huge wooden box or table. In Manila, most items are already in hangers so choosing is a lot easier. Thank you for being so appreciative with everything you saw in our country. It's only in your video that I learned that we have a swing in one of the bus stops. It was in BGC if I could remember it right. That's really cute. I can't help but get proud of my country presented this way. May you both enjoy your extended stay here. Always take care you two adorable love birds. Sending you both lots of love!

Oh no, vinegar serves as dip. Not sauce to your rice. If you have questions to your food, ask the servers at the restaurant. They will help you or answer your questions. Filipinos are very helpful.

You're extending? So cool. Have you been to the Banaue Rice Terraces or seen the hanging coffins of Sagada? It's very far north of Metropolitan Manila. Or have you been to Tagaytay and seen the Taal Volcano? It's south of Metro Manila. Or how about the remains of the Mt. Pinatubo volcano? ... North of Metro Manila.

Guys you might wanna explore first Luzon then maybe to Palawan then the Visayas Cebu Bohol Siquijor Boracay, Midanao Davao and Siargao While in Manila, might go to intramuros, Luneta Park, Dolomite beach, PICC area, Mall of Asia, Day cruise to corregidor island, Ayala Manila Bay, Okada, Ortigas, Eastwood Libis, Cubao (farmers market), Ayala Alabang, Enchanted Kingdom, Tagaytay Up north, there’s Baguio Vigan(far) In makati, there are areas like Uptown and Rockwell. Those places look cool

In the Phil. you can buy Off Mosquito lotion. You can buy that anywhere (Grocery, watsons). You need to be careful of mosquitos there because you can get dengue fever. We just got back from traveling there too. Your blog btw is relaxing because of your choice of music

There are 7 underground pedestrian passes in Makati for your safety so you don't have to cross the streets. It has also more than 2 kilometers of overhead pedestrian walkways.

We found it very convenient for pedestrians and relax to walk as there is no need to be aware of cars. 👍

@@DanandLyn Hopefully, when Makati subway is completed, it will be more convenient to travel in the city. Metro Manila subway, which is a different underground metro is now under construction. It connects the business districts of Ortigas, Makati, BGC, residential areas all the way to airport. Tunneling is being done now.

I knew i messed up somewhere 😅

Dip sauce toyo mansi (mixing chilli, calamansi( small lemon), and toyo( soy souce) to dip chicken inasal(barbeque chicken). Vinegar is an option. Dilis ( small fried fish) vinegar is match sauce on it. Enjoy you time in Philippines. Try visit Tagaytay and eat bulalo dish, buko pie, and espasol.

have you try to go in antipolo? its really near manila if you wanna explore outside manila you can go to zambales its a very excellent place to visit try ityou willlove your journy there

Actually filipino cuisine is delicious enough n well balance from every ingredients . Condiments or dipping sauce is just saying "your welcome n some form"

The gravy souce is for chicken not for the fries brow 😅 but is your choice. If delicious for you go for it dep the fries in a gravy ☺️
