False. There is proof that arthritis isn't caused that way. A scientist cracked only the bones in one hand for years to see the difference. The habd he cracked was no worse than the non cracked hand. If you're predisposed to getting arthritis or osteoarthritis then there's not much you can do about it but cracking doesn't cause it.
