My goodness, I think what's so amazing about this entire endeavor is how those moms continue to adopt the babies time and time again.. I've been watching Macaques on these other channels and it appears rare that a Macaque will raise another monkey's babies but these monkeys.. It's like they understand the survival of their species is what's important and not only do they take these babies, they actually build a bond. a loving and supportive bond.. The same type a mother builds with her own baby.. It's nothing short of amazing!! Thank you for all youre doing for these beautiful babies.. and this species.. You are also an amazing individual... Btw, I wonder if these mothers actually allow the babies to nurse from them once they adopt them? I didn't see any of the babies nursing..

Hey Kyle..how are u! I was wondering ..A Green monkey is the same thing as a Vervet right? Lol. I read though that there is like 5 or 6 sub species though BUT they are still all vervets. Sorry to bother ya with that I was just curious and have been reading up on them (and all monkeys!) And there is a new couple on YT that have a new Vervet baby (they call him a green monkey all the time) anyway myself and many others have tried to point them to VMF to get some advice but idk if they have talked to yall or not. It's so hard seeing him there after seeing yall take care of all the orphans and adults! ! :( They dont seem like bad people by any means. Just inexperienced and I and I'm sure alot of people wish they would treat him like a baby monkey not a human baby ya kno. I honestly just cringe at some of the stuff...I know that sounds mean ..I'm so sorry. But I feel its alot more mean to have that little guy like they do in an apartment at that!(and a playpen. :/ I actually used to not mind responsible people having monkeys as companions and I used to wnat 1 but since coming across yall months ago and also watching all of the other "wild" monkey videos,I have since formed a different opinion on "owning" a monkey! Now there are alot of awesome capuchin, and different macaque breed owners on YT. .I dont mean them bc most of then have had theirs for along time or they also have rescues or run a rescue and it kinda is what it is with them. They are all great people it seems like....I just really think every state here in the US needs to at the very least require that 1900 hours of certification to own a monkey! I feel if u can get a baby monk and have all tht $ and know that they r a full time job and going to cost alot of $ over the years and are going to be with u for alot of years then that is the very least a person can do before getting 1. ....sry thats my opinion! And on that note I'm gonna stop typing now bc I COULD go on and on lmao. Take care and hope to hear from ya soon and as always..cant wait for more videos!😘🖤💜

@@VervetMonkey Kyle, I am so happy to see this subject being discussed in your forum. I have commented on their video's a few times, about why a one month old baby, is likely "really" crying. It is so ******* ridiculous, that they are exploiting this animal to fill their pockets. They may not be bad people, but clueless, comes to mind! They have no idea what is in store, or what that precious baby has been through so they can "play house".

It amazes me how nuturing the females are! They are practically fighting each other to be the first one to get to hold an orphan! You don't see that in macaques! They will take care of the occasional orphan, or lost baby, but I've yet to see the macaque troop that adopts a bunch of orphaned macaques! It's cute how human their ears look, at least when they are really young, and there isn't much fur on them.

Hi Kyle, can you tell us more about the foster mothers...where do they come from and where do they go once they have adopted a baby? Also, do any of them lactate and if not, how do these babies get fed? I know you stated that they still get milk through the wire mesh enclosures but I don't understand how this happens once they are with their adoptive mothers. Thanks.

Hi Suzanne, I suggest you go back and watch the whole season. I answer a lot of your questions and explain a lot more too. But, even better and easier than that you can watch this Q&A video I made - kzread.info/dash/bejne/qp9hmJOOnNTPetY.html In the description below that video are a bunch of time markers with the correlating questions I answer, these are the ones I suggest you watch. The last one 48:17 addresses your first question directly and your question about feeding is at 43:07 and 47:36. 43:07 - What are the steps of the foster mother program? 46:38 - How do we choose which moms adopt babies? 47:06 - Do the foster moms foster multiple babies? 47:36 - Do the moms lactate when the babies suckle 47:58 - Are the foster moms ever past orphans? 48:17 - Do babies ever leave their moms? Do moms ever swap or steal babies? As far your question about where do they go once they've adopted the baby, they don't go anywhere, they stay in the troop. I really suggest you watch the season though, it will all make more sense once you have.

And Dave, love how you see he is such a gentle giant, holding each baby with such love, and caring. Awesome! God bless each life you touch!😊

I am dying to know... the Foster Mothers..Are they also recused themselves and how is it do they take those babies like their own? It's amazing to watch and I did try to read up on it a bit to find out. Some say it's Mothers Instinct but if they were out in the wild with babies of their own, it seems as if they wouldn't take a foster.

Yes they all rescues, if the troop is of normal structure family members will look after youngsters, the main problem is milk and its the infants that dont let each other drink

Oh my goodness preemie Janet was smaller than a roll of toilet paper , isn't that the cutest most fragile little thing ya ever saw. I soooo would love to spend time with baby monkeys like that and juvies , I would love to have one but I personally wouldn't be able to care for it the way it should be therefore I would just love to spend a few days with them. Pig tails, long tails or vervet's, any of them would be fine :-) ide love to wake up one day with a monkey baby asleep in my arms yep I will keep dreaming lol
