Got the TRX the day it was available on Amazon. So I've been using it for a couple months already. Besides the fact I can't reply to emails and texts, can't make or take a call? I love this watch! Works flawlessly when working out, swimming, or biking. GPS, GLONAS, ect. I can't live without it. I get any notifications I want, so I don't want to except a call or respond to an email or text while doing these things. But when in a meeting, or out with my wife. I use a galaxy watch 46mm lte chrome. These 2 watches I can't live without lol

Hello on the zepp app there is a section called my records where it records your best times for 3k, 5k ect. My current watch GTS doesn't support personal records. Does the T-Rex have this feature?

Thanks for the great review. I am getting back into fitness and was wondering if there was other sport modes on the app. For instance the Fitbit has some preloaded sport modes but you also have more in the app. Thanks

Nice review Donavon. How easy is it to see the always on display, assuming you are not tilting your wrist? Can you see it on bright sunlight? Also, are there any training load pro metrics like on the Garmin Forerunner 245?

Great questions. The AOD is somewhat dim, so on super bright days I can still see it, but I usually end up flipping my wrist to turn the full display on. As for pro metrics, this isn’t the watch for that, the Amazfit Stratos 3 has those pro metrics like training load, Vo2 Max, training effect, etc....

Tomorrow I have a video coming out for the Amafit Stratos 3, that one could be a great option. I also like the Amazfit Verge and the Garmin 245 Music. If you are an iPhone user, the Apple Watch is obviously more expensive, but it’s a great option as well.

you dont have to carry your phone, you cannot connect directly to strava, you have to use the zepp app (amazfit app) and then add your strava account. by this way, every time you workout, the data will be synced to strava. hope this helps.

It’s called WorkOutDoors. I did a review of the app a while back. It’s a super customizable app for runners. I love it.

I got it from an App called Amaz Faces. It’s available on both Android and iOS phones.

I’m trying to use the apps you have to install watch faces and they just won’t work. I can get to the stage of installing and syncing on the watch screen but after it finishes no face gets loaded to the watch and reverts to the stock face. Looked in the Amazfit app and it’s not in the faces collection either. What am I doing wrong? I’ve allowed discoverable mode.

GJ I gave up on the other app in the end and just used AmazFaces app instead which works really easily and reliably once I figured how to select the watch you have from the options panel. It’s straightforward but not very obvious, it looks like there is only 3 watches to choose from but there’s more if you swipe left and right. The watch selection panel is in the top right corner underneath the tools cog icon. Then just browse through the watch faces and choose one and click install, then it downloads to the watch. In the amazfit app you need to have discoverable mode set to allow in the settings and I have both apps open in the background while installing faces. The watch face he is using is from AmazFaces app anyway if that’s the one your after.

Is the brightness of the screen enough in the bright daylight outdoors? I watched GTS' brightness is stronger than that of T-Rex. That's why i am asking.

The "always-on" display is honestly very hard to see in bright daylight, but the regular screen (on the T-Rex) I have no problems viewing in bright sunlight.

I’m working in bombshelters in Sweden and it’s dirty, sometime i scratch my watch that i have now and it looks like shit now. I had plans on an apple watch but i’m afraid to break it

You could get an Apple Watch and get a heavy duty case for it. Otherwise, this watch does have Gorilla Glass on it, so it is scratch resistant, but not scratch proof.

can you wear it during a warm/hot shower? it says resistant to 50 m but i want to be sure if im gonna wear it during a shower. hope you reply, thanks!

Yes you can. The app allows you to connect 3rd Party apps, with Strava being one of them.

How does the battery life and accuracy compare with the bip s and the gts?

Accuracy is right on par with the Bip S and the GTS, which is to say it’s very accurate, but could be even better if it had additional GPS signals. Battery life is better than the GTS, but not as good as the Bip S. I’d estimate 4-5 days on a full charge with heavy use on the T-Rex (in the video I was at 50% after 2 1/2 days since my last charge). The T-Rex is a much larger watch than those two though.

@@donavonhornbeck thank you. I am thinking of returning the GTS for the Bip S. I think it locks on the gps faster. I have the old Bip and I prefer the longer battery life and screen always on. The gripe of the gts is the dark red orange font in workout mode i can't read while running or riding a bicycle. The Bip S is more humble, does not pretend to be an Apple Watch and costs 60 dollars less. I like the GTS, but Bip S has some practical advantages, even if the GTS has a better screen. Also screen always on during workouts, like the Bip S is nice

Yes, this watch has built in GPS, so you won’t have to take your phone with you to record workouts if you don’t want to.

Yes, you can see your messages, but you won't be able to respond directly from the watch (just view your messages).

The watch doesn’t have a speaker or microphone, so no calls. It will warn you when you get a call, and it will show your text messages, but you won’t be able to reply directly from the watch.

No, I’m not sure that feature is available on any Amazfit Watch ( I may be wrong). I’ve never actually reviewed any watch that had the ability to check tour blood pressure.

And in any case of need you can use the watch as self defence weapon . Unless it's a golem against you, watch are going to win 😄

It isn’t just 2 GPS satellites, it’s 2 GPS systems with many satellites. You forgot to say that it crashed the Apple when it comes to battery life.

I got it from an IPhone App called AmazFaces. I’m sure you can also find it on some of the Amazfit watchface websites like Amazfit Central as well.
