AMAZED TO DISAPPOINTED

I have been resonating with the story of Mary of Bethany. I have always been so impressed with her story of pouring out a year's worth of wages onto the feet of Jesus. I have been reading this story and I saw something new.
Introducing Mary Luke 10 - story of Mary and Martha
Middle of the Story John 11- Lazarus dying & resurrecting
End John 12 - Mary is known as the woman who poured the perfume at the feet of Jesus.
From beginning, middle to the end of Mary's story, we see a constant - she's at the feet of Jesus. At the beginning of her story she's amazed by Him. She is in awe and wonder of who He is. The middle of the story, she's full of offense, she's disappointed that Jesus didn't show up for her. She's battling her faith, and who Jesus is, and yet she comes to Him and falls at His feet. Lazarus resurrects, and they are at dinner, and then we see Mary at the feet of Jesus, but this time she's not pouring out her pain or anger, she's pouring out a year's worth of wages unto the feet of Jesus.
Don't you think it's crazy that even in Mary's distress, anger, offense and disappointment, she's still at the feet of Jesus? But even more so, she's not known for that most of disappointment and anger towards Jesus, but the author makes it clear that before their story is told, she is to be known as a woman who poured out a year's wages unto the feet of Jesus. Then Jesus says that her story will be preached and discussed throughout the world.
Isn't that just like Jesus? That He allows us to be known as who we are today, and not by our past, or disappointments. God wanted Mary to be known for the Mary in John 12, not the Mary in John 11.
How do you feel about this story? What stood out to you in the video? I'd love to hear what you think!
Thank you so much for watching, and I'd love to connect with you!

I love the story about Mary so much, it shows to us that you can come to the Lord just as you are but once you do, you will never be the same, you will be transformed into a women/man of God and that is the beautiful work of the holy spirit!😍🙏
