Amayenge - Aphiri

Amayenge Aphiri
I do not usually upload music from other countries or songs less than 20 years but this was asked so many times. I also notice that Zambia like Zim has no reliable depository of yesteryear music. We need to work on this. Twitter: @lmakombe

2020, and still here😍
rocking this in December 2019 Zimbabwe
Its 2023. This song suddenly playing in my mind. So i came to check it out. Takes me back 30years plus...when my mother and father were still alive and young. Thing is, I still have no clue what the song is saying...and it doesnt matter really. 🤣

She is singing a Phiri being married she is a side chick 🐥 lol
Apart from being one of the best bands to come out of Africa circa 1980s and 1990s, this is arguably their top tune, with such an audacious message: cheeky and fun, evocative of real life and fun. The last minute of the song changes tone somewhat!

The songs talks about her Love for married man but she respected the wife because she didn't want the wife to find out that she was in Love with her husband...so she was secretly in love with him but she respected the wife.

I remember my entire family being transfixed and stunned into silence as we all watched the video to this song on TV, hanging onto every word. As Zimbabweans, we did not understand the lyrics but the song was different and it sounded right.
We used to love it in Zimbabwe.Whenever the band toured Harare they used to stay in Westwood suburb and the guys would come join us playing football at my former school Kambuzuma 2 High
True Zambian music! I love Zambia
Still blazing this classic 2018 Zimbabwe
Well I heard these songs in the 80s ,now 2023 , The song talks about a woman falls in love with someones husband without knowing he is the married man, and in the end she fails to let go of him....
In Zimbabwe in the 80s , when i was still a Child, that was one of my Favorite Happy Songs , Plus the Funny Video too with that Man wearing a Mask Dancing with Shake Ass Women was a Classic i will never Forget
