ARR music takes time to grow. It takes atleast 6-7 hearing to discover his gems. People who say that ARR music doesnt sound like before dont have patient to listen it more than 1-2 times. For example even though I know this fact, when Rockstar came out, my first reaction was that its not that good- but now almost all songs from it are my all time fav. Same was with Sathiya, Guru, PS1,2, and even Chamkila.

It's simple. Rahman makes what movie demands. Infact that's been his whole USP in recent times. PS-I and II music was amazing and complemented movie so much. Back then he was simply trying to put new and good songs into a movie. Trying to fit songs into movies. Now he's getting good at the reverse.

Same with GVM, Mani Ratnam, now recently with Mari Selvaraj! I still can't believe we got an absolutely stunning reggae again from ARR. I had goosebumps throughout the song. Such brilliant singers and omg what line of singers. All four with distinct kind of parts - very well thought. This song has pain, fire, passion, energy and everything rolled into one. How well wove the lyrics are - Irshad Sahab, poetic genius. How catchy the music is keeping the roots and poetry intact. Also the backing vocals bhai, very lit. I was speechless at Romy's part 'woh toh mirza malang' - too good. This song has that 'Chali Kahani' kind of grandeur. ARR is always so unique, experimented and brilliant with his work. Legend for a fact. 2. TU KYA JAANE - Yashika Sikka, you have my heart. She sounds so fresh and magical. I love ARR for introducing so many artistic female voices in mainstream albums be it - Shashaa, Hiral, Jonita, Antara Nandy, Rakshita Suresh, Sanah and now Yashika SIkka. Love this song. How soulful the lyrics are. I was lost at 'jeet loon zamane se main jung karke, tujhpe dupatta wala rang karke' - so beautiful. 3. ISHQ MITAYE - This song needs no introduction. Mohit Chauhan needs no introduction. It entered into my playlists in one minute of release. It has chartbuster written all over it. The best of it are the lyrics. Irshad Kamil, how are you so clever and new all the time? You are iconic. 4. BOL MOHABBAT - Another beautifully composed song. How impressive! It cleverly reflects pain and passion. Also, Irshad Kamil uses 'Bulle Shah' reference like no one - Be it Bulleya (Sultan) and be it this one. ARR has such a distinct vocal range that it just intensifies the entire scenario. Depth like crazy. Kailash Kher, you are beauty! 5. VIDA KARO - Arijit and Jonita blend so good together. Arijit is singing literally that many songs that I fear he should not turn into sounding same in just every another track. He is very talented. I'm glad ARR used him, a little differently. Loved this song. 6. NARAM KAALJA - Ladies! Alka Ji, Richa Sharma, Pooja Tiwari and Yashika - You are all so beautiful. Bahot Pyaara gaana! Quirky lyrics, Quirky music.
