My auntie has it and my cousins don't want to know, after seeing their mum deteriorate like that they said they would not be able to stop thinking about it. I have three cousins though so I can't help but think at least one of them has it, and 2 of them have kids, because my auntie wasn't diagnosed till her 40s we never even knew she had it, we always thought she was being clumsy and ditsy when she started with symptoms, then she had a car accident so we made her get tests that's how we found out. Either way is hell.

Amanda Sweetie, there's nothing worse than the fear of the unknown. You are already living in constant fear of it. Take the test. You might not have it. Then you can be happy and love your life. If you do have it. Live your life NOW. Make it as full as possible. Do your bucket list. Much Love from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

Get tested as you have a fifty percent chance that you don't have it and then you can have peace every day. If you test positive then go about living every day to its fullest until its onset. I have looked after a Huntington's man at a respite centre so I fully understand your hesitation in getting the test but every day to have that hanging over you is impeding your ability to be truly happy. Please for yourself get the test.

I'm not sure I would've have had the emotional strength to do life. I think that's why the majority of people don't get tested,

My Mother died from Huntington’s. Many of her relatives also had this disease. My sister has Huntington’s it is surprising how many people don’t know about it. It changed my Mother completely. Having to live with the possibility of it being passed on is hard and worrying that my children may inherited too.

I lost my Mum - who was unable to look after myself and my identical twin when we were born due to the disease - when i was 13 and have lost 4 sisters and anephew who took his own life due to the disease. I feel your pain. It's the cruelest disease in the world. I was tested when i was around 40 yo and fortunately found i am negative. Unfortunately i lost my twin in Dec 2019 to a brain tumour. Honestly no family deserves to go through this , this disease is just so depressing just to see your loved one slowly losing their mind and can’t do normal things and the fact that they can’t even express their emotions on what’s even going on it just slowly takes over their brain without even knowing and all of a sudden they speak less and do less things and the fact seeing them suffer and cant even do anything but help feed them until it’s their time to go and the fact that this disease is hereditary makes their kids not even want to have kids because their afraid they will have it and passing it down to their kids and make them go through the same thing just passing it down generations which is to fucking depressing to deal with making them lose their minds killing their mental health having them paranoid thinking they have the disease until they get tested and find out but no one wants to find out that they have it or not it’s just to much to think about like what kind of fucking world do we live in my mom had HD at a way to fucking early age it was just way to fucking soon and the fact that I had to see her go through it at a very young age (10 years old) and my siblings which are older we had no idea what it was we didn’t think much of it because we were still kids but now that we are matured and grown up we realize that she was showing so much symptoms it was so sad because no one knew her family passed down HD and the fact that we went through that none of us want kids so they have to go through what we went through it’s just way to depressing to go through honestly I really do hope there is a cure for it no one deserves to go through this.

HD has robbed your joy and every day it haunts you in a thousand ways. The fear lives with you, the big what if. If you got tested what would you have to lose? There is a 50% chance you lucked out and you can live without the fear. If you do have it nothing really has changed because you already have the fear with you every day. I have liver failure and have recently been in hospital , while in hospital there was a 36 year old bed ridden woman , she couldn't talk , eat , walk , threw her arms and legs around uncontrollably and made noises occasionally. I had never heard of Huntingtons and asked a nurse what was wrong with her , nurse told me she has Huntington Disease . 36 years old and life over , I cried 😢 , this is the saddest and most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen. She is a regular visitor to the hospital and the medical staff do their best to make her comfortable. Knowing she will die way too young with no cure is awful 😢 I can't help thinking it would be a happy release for her if she slipped away in her sleep .

I was thinking the other day that probably the best solution for HD would be touse CRISPR to introduce a stop condon mutation to the HTT gene and cause truncation of the gene with mRNA decay. I got this idea while researching about Laron Syndrome, which is caused by pathogenic stop condom and frameshift mutations to the GHR gene. Of course, the HTT gene is still essential to life, so the trick would be to make the mutation heterozygous. That would reduce protein levels by 50% to normal levels. I think that this is the sole solution because I honestly don't think that pharmaceutical approaches will work for many reasons. Someone should forward this to researchers.

It's called Chorionic Villus sampling ( cvs ) not and option for everyone. But halts HD in its tracks. One thing about science it doesn't give up. ❤

She'd be better to get tested then she could have a life one way or the other. If positive do everything you can now. If negative plan for your future. Otherwise you're just living with this fear hanging over you, stopping you from doing anything

How can I share the hope if I know actual management of this genetic disease has an answer you have yet to hear. My family is too he'd by Huntington's my wife, and me with autism. I thank God for the curse of my autism. It is internationally recognized and featured in an acclaimed documentary. I am even on the cover page. I have managed my extreme savant hyper unstable intelligence and today I have evolved into one of the most peculiar cases of it, in the world to date. I have extended life UT I am loosing my battle. You need to hear how we lived this long functioning. It is the only hope and it is not what you would expect. Heck I am on KZread and Vimeo AND the winner of the 2016 Hoboken International Film Festival best documentary... but the FDA does what

Every promise true, yet conditional on verses one and two, which are OUR part... Psalm 91 1He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; 6Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9Because you have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation; 10There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. 11For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13You shall tread on the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall you trample under feet. 14Because he has set his love on me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known my name. 15He shall call on me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. 16With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation. You can trust Jesus 💟

My Mother died from Huntington’s. Many of her relatives also had this disease. My sister has Huntington’s it is surprising how many people don’t know about it. It changed my Mother completely. Having to live with the possibility of it being passed on is hard and worrying that my children may inherited too.
