Amami Oshima（奄美大島） lies about 380km southwest of Kyushu region surrounded by the East China Sea on the west and the Pacific Ocean on the east.
The climate of Amami Oshima is classified as a humid subtropical climate with very warm summers andmild winters.
In July 2021, Amami Oshima was registered as World Natural Heritage Sites.
