The reason she is even making this video is many of you fail to realize that often this question is asked right upon first meeting or chatting with a trans woman . And I can’t say this enough….that is just a tasteless, rude and inappropriate thing to do to…anyone. I can’t help but wonder if the reason they ask you, is because they themselves are a “top or bottom”. So assuming they like to top, and if you liked to top, ETC. perhaps they would than move on. Like it would be a waste of both your time, if you both wanted to top.

I am married to a lovely trans women for about 5 years now and I'm not afraid to say I love it when she gets Frisky and takes control of me and tops me it is what keeps are sex life's so great and interesting. This is a fascinating conversation and in my opinion important to have. Sexual preferences should never be assumed and potential partners need to discuss and always in a respectful way. When people show you who they are, believe them. If the topic of sex comes up in the 1st conversation, they’re clearly only interested in only sex. Someone interested in more will likely try to get and know you personally and if there is an attraction, preferences will come up naturally. I wouldn’t be interested in someone penetrating me but I’m not certain you have to be gay, if you want to experience that. I think this issue is mostly in YOUR head...in my experiences, most trans girls LIKE their c**ks. MOST want boobs but also want to keep their boy parts as well. One reason "straight" guys are attracted to trans women is because there are simply more possibilities in the bedroom...but there is still that ultra feminine dynamic that only a trans woman can offer...it's completely different than being with a gay man...not even in the same arena IMO. I understand the entire notion of "a woman born into a mans body"...and that seems to be you but...there is something in between...and many men enjoy that "in between"...OK. Just my 2 cents :) :)

My partner is a transgender woman, and she prefers to be feminine during the day, but masculine under the covers. Unlike yourself, she definitely did not want a male partner who was 'top', and made sure that I understood he wishes. Thankfully, I am genuinely the opposite and thus we are very close on all levels.

If I love you then I'll do anything to please you doesn't matter which it is top or bottom.

For me a trans woman can be a top or a bottom and it doesn't impact their femininity in any way. Being feminine doesn't mean someone is a bottom from my point of view. If a cis woman wants to be on top most of the time (and some do) honestly I see them as a top. It's just rare, is all. Wanting someone who is a top doesn't mean that they want to be with a gay guy at all.

She did answer dude. Whenever I'm with a trans woman I always ask them questions because you have to. The key is how you go about doing it. Start off small, keep it light and build off that. If they feel pressured, back off immediately and give them space and time. In a nutshell, be respectful and have common sense.

I think that the reason for asking is to not assume what the other persons sexual preference is and to make sure they are compatible. It would be a bummer to find out you're not compatible after already spending time dating. Some people can only climax from either top or bottom so if they aren't both open to either option, then it might create an issue later. Also, a man wanting to be topped does not mean he's gay, because he may not be attracted to his same sex. There are lots of men who are attracted to femininity and enjoy being topped. There are also lots of transwomen who prefer to top. If they are being aggressive when they ask then of course that's a bummer. If they are asking because the only thing they care about is sex, then maybe they should be on a hookup app not a dating app.

But then why would she consider a guy gay who wanted to sleep with her? Can't have both be true at the same time. My guess is that she has matured and fugured some of these things out by now, and isn't offended when someone tries to understand her better, and make sure they are compatible as a couple. A guy asking her if she's had bottom surgery shouldn't offend her. He's clearly trying to make sure they are compatible and that there aren't any surprises down the road.

the point of asking is crucial. The man who is interested in a trans partner may only click with a certain role in the bedroom, so it's not as bad as you think. It's first identifying if you will be at least compatible in the most rudimentary way. Being trans tells us of your gender identity, not your sexual role or likes or dislikes in the bedroom. But this is important.

To be honest, I think people just want to know what they are getting into, instead of beating around the bush, it’s better to be honest and straight forward. Another thing, if someone is swiping right on you, they are wanting to be with a female, but they might be interested in getting topped, so that’s why they ask, there are guyz that wanted to be in a relationship with a trans woman that will top them, they don’t want to be with a man thats tops them because they aren’t attracted to men, they are attracted to women, if they were attracted to men why would they swipe right on your profile? I totally respect that you don’t like to be asked that question, but it’s going to happen because there are men who are seeking that, they want to be with an attractive women like yourself, but with the option to be topped. I don’t think they want to offend you by any means, they just want to find out if you are into that, because that might be a deal breaker for them, meaning that they are only interested in trans women who will top them, and if you can’t do that for them, then they don’t want to waste your time and their time. But it doesn’t mean that they are gay or attracted to men. Fair question, and I can understand the idea of it being considered a fetish. However, as a guy that has been seeing trans women for well over ten years, I think that guys typically just ask that purely because they want to know what kind of sex they will likely be having, much like if you're a guy that sees biological women - you expect there to be a vagina. So, while I respect that they are offended, I think it's better to ask with respect rather than entering into an involvement, but everything is great but the intimate portion. Spoken from experience, I once dated this trans woman and she told me that she was a top. I had a look of serious concern, but it's not because I hadn't done it before. It's because I didn't want to have that kind of relationship with them. So, I think being tactful is good.

Well, I like to be bottom, but like you say, I do not care. I can top if it is like that, but it is different from person to person and situation to situation. I however like when my partner say that they are a top just so I know that I do not have to think about it. And no, it is not male or female (for me at least), my girlfriends have also topped me (with strap on) but I have ofc also topped them. It have imo gotten a bit to sexualized or whatever one would like to call it. Personally I just like it and I like trans people, so I like to be topped. Like some guys also and then I want to be topped. Like girls also, and then I want to be topped. I may not fit for everyone, I get that. But there is girls, guys and trans people out there that fit for me, and I fit for them.

It's just perspective, depends on what turns you on, you can top, or bottom, or do both. I don't think most of trans woman wanna be top, only if required to.

That communication can build a very strong connection in the bedroom for a couple. But it's also important to understand the appropriate timing for said discussion. Mid coitus, probably not a good idea. When having an honest discussion to feel each other out and find each other's likes and dislikes, that's when it's appropriate. And as to what Jianna Belle said. I have to disagree with the final statement. If you don't enjoy topping as a trans woman, then there is no such thing as "required to." You have every right as a woman to deny the things you don't want to experience with your sexual partners. As a trans attracted cis straight guy, I don't feel 'required to' do anything for anyone. I think that many times but probably not all times people "need" to define things in ways that they can understand. It says a lot about a person, the questions they ask. You are smart to just walk away.

As someone who's attracted to trans women, the "top vs bottom" thing is actually quite important. I understand that particular phrasing can be offensive, but no more so than you assuming a male who enjoys prostate orgasms is gay. Having had an experience with both a man & a trans woman, I can tell you it is not the same. One has very masculine features I find repulsive (sexually) & the other does not. I don't generally bring this up immediately, but I do always ask if they prefer to receive, give, both, or neither and let the conversation flow from there.

She just cannot say yes or no , she is making a huge deal for getting asked a simple question. I don't see her as an open minded trans

As for you wandering about guys wanting to be bottom. I can only speak for myself. And my first trnas gf topped me and I felt so emotional. Felt so warm inside and like I was truly loved. Now would I do so with a guy no not at all. Just there is something special about that with a trans gf that makes me so warm and loved. Now I also enjoy being top. Just to make it clear. I'm a straight male who is attracted to women and feminine trans. I'm not attracted to men or masculine trans. If I were with a feminine trans, I would be open to being topped. The arousal would be the result of having a feminine person in me who looks and acts like a girl. Of course the "taboo" aspect is what would make it even more arousing. It seems that there are more Asian trans who can pass as women because Asian men tend to look and act feminine (as compared to Caucasian or Black men). For example, I would totally let Jamiie top me!

Just from my experiences and opinions, I think you can't seem to accept that a man who prefers a woman with a penis is not just some fetish, it's an actual preference. When I was like 8years old, and I first started to imagine women naked, I did not imagine a vagina on her body. I love a woman's soft skin, pretty face and long hair. Her long legs and everything about their appeal but I prefer a woman who does not have a vagina. According to you, I'm gay but that is an odd way to think. My current gf is trans, my previous gf is trans, and I suppose I was a "chaser" before those relationships. When I first started "chasing" transwomen, I was strictly top, I didn't even consider being bottom. But then I met this one transgirl, and after we had sex (me top), she said "okay, now I f*** you". I protested, but she was quite insistent, and she kind of forced me, which itself was kind of hot. And after initial discomfort, she got going, and it was quite an experience. I didn't like it right away, but after that first experience, it was like I needed to get it again. But I have never ever asked a trans girl if she is top or bottom, there's no need to ask, it doesn't really matter. We'll figure it out when we get to that point. Asking, "why would a guy want to be topped by a transgirl?", is like asking, "why would a guy want to top another guy?". A gay guy can "top" a woman, but he's only attracted to masculinity, so he goes with other men. A guy who dates transwomen could be topped by a guy, but he's not attracted to men, he's attracted to femininity. People like what they like, and provided it's legal and above board, they should not be shamed for it or told they're wrong for liking it. What is a fetish, really? I suppose I kind of have a foot fetish. I like giving my girlfriend a foot massage, and doing it makes me aroused. But that's a good thing for the both of us. It doesn't make you any less of a woman if you top a guy. It also doesn't make the guy gay. It really just depends on your preferences and how comfortable you and your partner are with whatever you do in bed. That being said, sexual stuff like this should be discussed once you've established an intimate, trusting relationship with someone and shouldn't be something you just randomly ask a stranger on a dating app.

Look I get these questions that are asked are kinda weird but they are weird because trans people make them that way. I know what I'm getting with a biological female just the same the other way.
