As a youtuber myself, content is the hardest thing to get, especially now with how expensive everything is. I took a break for about 2months and it felt amazing not having to do videos. and spending time doing family things too, you still have to live your own life. Doing KZread videos becomes a second job, and you end up feeling like your forced to-do them, which for me sucks the fun out of it. I've come back doing short 5min videos straight from the phone with zero editing and they have been doing well. all i can say youtube will always be there if you need to take a break.

KZread burnout isn’t what anyone wants to see. I love the content and will tune in a month, two months time when you’re ready to upload. Real life takes priority over this online world 👍🏻

Hey Mark, Just recently discovered your channel, love the content and would watch you plant trees, lol, Its great seeing local South Aussie content. Your channel does not have to be about cars, you would be surprised what we would watch. Also does not need to be weekly, just do it when you can, even yearly, you will get into what ever you enjoy, just live your life the way you want.

Mate I also have a small KZread channel about my cars ect but I treat it as a hobby and haven’t made a cent and don’t expect to. I’m just sharing what I know and have done in the hope it might help someone else who is trying to keep old Australian cars on the road. Don’t put pressure on yourself because it will become a chore For what it’s worth I have overall enjoyed you channel Be good cheers Blue

Mark, you have created a brillant channel that has shown your passion for cars and anything automotive. Having been into cars my whole life and even now when l am retired, l find it hard to find the time to spend on them all. In my humble opinion, you are a bit burnt out. Take a break, re-evaluate after a break, and see where you're at in life. We will all wait...and hope you return. Take care both of you. From an old car guy whose into Fords.

Makes 100% sense dude. I've always dug your videos since the early days and your content has been a massive part of me rekindling my interest and finding my way back into the car scene, but at the same time I don't think anyone who follows the channel would begrudge you for putting other things at the forefront. Take a break and put out content that you're happy with when you're happy to do so, the audience you have will still be interested. Failing that, I'd dig a walkaround of the Datto ute and as someone who grew up with Rotties I always get a kick out of seeing Judge in your videos haha. But seriously man, concentrate on what you have to concentrate on and if you feel like doing vids in the future then that's a bonus, I'll still be a fan of the channel.

  • @towking_
    @towking_3 ай бұрын

Strap a gopro to Judge 😂😂 be the best content ever. On a serious note, I personally think the content you create is awesome, your hobby is cars. But your life is not cars if that makes sense eg. you don't have a workshop business where you can make a living and document it. Outsourcing is difficult because like you said people want to get paid. Would doing live content make it easier for you to get the videos out? Even if it was mid week/ any day of the week. Even If it is a 5/10minute video. I 100% feel you with our tiny little channel with very small views it's challenging to juggle a real income and make content. You being a much bigger channel it would be hard to let down 26k people. The other option is to go hard on the other channel and grow that, might give you motivation. Regardless always here for you ❤️

You do you Mark. If your passion becomes a chore it’s not worth the stress. Longer videos on a monthly basis maybe? I hear so many content creators on KZread are saying either doing shorts or longer videos are generating revenue and the medium length weekly stuff is getting harder t for some reason. It seems shorts are trending and high viewership, but for me it’s mainly just some person rambling on for 40 seconds about nothing and I know you don’t want what you’ve built to turn into that kind of thing

The pyjama shop? Haha well, if it's me you are referring to (apologies if it's not), I will say he's correct; clocking back to non regular releases does affect the analytical side of the channel. I do know a thing or two about life changes impacting on creative time, but his decision is his own. For me it was a no brainer; I scaled back and never looked back, there just isn't enough hours in the day to work full time, care for loved ones and create videos. The last thing I wanted, was my enthusiasm to take a big hit.

Everyone else has pretty well covered it - but I would gladly still tune in for an episode a month rather than have nothing at all. My initial thoughts while watching (and most have been covered already were): less frequent videos, with maybe some shorts to tie people over. Before you even mentioned it, I was already thinking about farming out the editing to someone who wants to learn the ropes, or is looking to combine forces and fast track a channel of their own? Combining your channel with someone else's, maybe Jake, or your own other channel, or even someone up and coming?

We will watch whatever you you can give us, when ever you can do it. A mate of mine has a small channel that he stepped away from, then came back later. And the youtube algorithm smashed him. Its like starting from scratch again. So if you can do one each month or 2, i think it would be better. And i think you would probably struggle to not tinker on your cars in a 2 month period anyway 😅. If you decide to outsource your vids, get in touch with paul cronin (gus). He is localish to you, an absolute champion, and already edits vids for guys like street machine, skid factory and probably others. He does good work, and he is great in front of the camera too. All the best with whatever you decide mark.

Mark, Just take the pressure off. Only do a video when it suits you and it won't matter if it not clockwork regular, we will still watch them for the great content😊

Hey man sometimes life takes over hobbys. That's why my cars never get done haha. I'd ask myself is this a hobby or business venture. Maybe pick 5 cars and do like a monthly vlog on tinkering with them. We will follow. All the best!

Totally understand where you’re coming from Mark.. Enjoy watching your show, you do a great job, content is there and you can tell your story passionate about cars and the culture.. However you can pick up from your channel that you’re struggling for time with everything else you have going on.. Step back mate, have a break from KZread if that’s what you need to do, the channel will always be there for you to come back to when you’re ready and reenergised. Cheers.🍻

I feel you mate, the reason I stepped away from interviews and radio was it became a chore and no fun. I miss it everyday and know I will come back when I feel driven and comfortable to do so. Maybe do monthly videos for the winter, too bloody cold anyway, and kick it up again in summer?

The Iron Empire was one of the first Australian YT channels that I started watching on a regular basis. It made me look for others and now I have about 3 or 4 I continue to watch, because of what you built. It is supposed to be enjoyable and when it starts to feel like a job, then you know it’s time to step away. Perhaps just doing videos of car events you visit etc can bbe done without all the editing. The problem is that we all want content to look professional, but the flip side is that having professional looking content requires professional time allocation. Don’t forget too, most paid employment in this country gives you 4 weeks paid leave, so maybe take some annual leave as such? Whatever you produce as far as content goes, I’ll be watching and know I won’t be alone.

Mark I enjoy what you post but you have to put yourself first. I don't even post anything car related on my channel. My opinion and everyone has one 😂 is to just post something up when you are ready to do so. I won't lie I hang out every Saturday morning for a new video as I love what you post up and the tips you give out. I also follow Jake's chop shop that you work together with and enjoy as well. Whatever you decide will happily support. Hopefully you can post something but all the best whatever decision you make. Take care 👍

Hey Mark, what you are going through would not be uncommon. If I were you I would look at getting someone else to edit for you. But how about contacting other youtubers in the car scene (or maybe not) and see if you can share the cost? That way an editor/producer can get what they are worth and the youtube channels get quality and time back.

Well, I'm glad to hear you say that you'll still be putting out some at least some content until things pick up again. I would hate to see the Iron Empire channel finish altogether. I hope you find something that works for you, anyway. 😉
