I'm not a "celebrity follower" or whatever the term is, but it's nice when someone whose work you love interacts with you. I followed Anne Rice on FB when she was alive and I occasionally commented on her posts. I literally squealed when she liked and commented on my comment! 😁 The yarn colors are beautiful, btw!

Plow in - that’s the phrase that came to me when you were describing how you’re approaching this project and your knitting mojo “slump” I think that sometimes you just have to plow in and see what happens, if we make mistakes we rip, we frog, and we can do the same thing if we just plow in and do it and decide later if it’s what we like or want - it’s part of the journey

1:27 Taylor’s of Harrogate is amazing, if you ever get to visit Yorkshire, Taylor’s make Yorkshire tea (the best tea!) and they also are the same company as Betty’s, which is a traditional 1920s tea room for afternoon tea and baked goods. They make the most amazing patisserie, and they even have a cookery school at the Taylor’s factory where you can learn to make their famous fondant fancies etc. it’s an absolute institution, and you must visit ❤

I thought it would be fun to outfit everyone with Mitts. I found some Eddie Bauer wool (80% super wash merino, 20% alpaca) at Joann’s. The yarn is available online and at some retail locations.

Love your colorwork project; I do love colorowork. I find it “knits itself.” I bet you’re having dry heat - we (East Coast) have hot humidity, which makes all cotton shirts and towels wet all the time and feels as if a smothering hand has been clamped across your face. I long for sweater weather - so much more energy. Xx

I would like to do a colorwork sweater some day, and use the yarn that changes to different colors. I always forget what they call it. I agree about the too big necklines and I hate adding the collar on after you knit the sweater. I guess I'm set in my knitting ways! I am currently making another Bright Side sweater, because the pattern is fantastic and so easy to follow and each sweater I've made a little different. Different collar heights and hems and cuffs. This time I'm using a yarn that is so special to me, and I've saved it for like ten years, but realized I better get to using it. It's original Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. The color is Victorian Gothic and they don't make it anymore. It's this charcoal black color with highlights of lighter charcoal. It's turning out beautiful.

Awesome that she gave you a shout out! I'd be over the moon about it as well. Yay you! As for the tea, I just have to share my latest find. I've just recently got back from a trip to Sydney, where it is currently winter and perfect tea weather, and I decided that on this visit, I'd try out a few things I'd never seen at home. I tried Taylors of Harrogate's Yorkshire Tea in Biscuit Brew and it is SO good. I'm usually an Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Jasmine Green Tea kind of girl. Occasionally lean into fruity teas. So I have no idea why this particular tea called to me, but it is absolutely not to be missed. Sadly, I can't find anywhere local that carries it, but it is available to be ordered online at a few places, and though it was a bit pricey, I have a box in my possession and couldn't be happier.
