Always Start Your Golf Swing Like This

Спорт

If you don't get your takeaway right in the golf swing you will find it very difficult to strike your irons solid and hit your driver straight.
The golf swing takes less than 1.5 seconds to complete of which only 0.5 seconds applies to your downswing. This means that if you aren't in a great position at the top of your golf swing, you literally have no time to consistently make the necessary improvements to strike your irons perfect or hit your driver straight.
We are all looking for simple golf tips that help us produce an effortless golf swing and I believe todays golf lesson could be a game changer for your golf.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZread and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny you are a super star! Your online coaching lessons are truly amazing and simply inspirational. I’m 68 years old, had a hip replacement 6 months ago, decided to supplement my physiotherapy by going to the driving range, never touched a golf club in my life, and started hitting balls! I’ve followed your instructions diligently, suffered all the issues as warned against by you, corrected as suggested, and to date making wonderful progress! There’s no looking back. I’m hooked thanks to you. Keep up the great lessons and your contribution to promoting golf as a sport for all ages. 👍😊☺️👏

One thing I noticed at the range the other day was by slowing my backswing down I was able to think about what I was doing. I think us high handicappers (I'm 28.3) tend to rush and snap at the shot. Your videos are great Danny, I think of you as part of my coaching team along with my PGA coach.

I'm 69 years old in a couple of weeks and when I'm playing golf I still try and hit the ball as far as I did when I was in my thirties. Your online lessons have helped me sustain that power and ball striking accuracy although I am not as supple as I used to be. Thank you Danny.

Wow, just wow. I have been struggling with a couple of issues in my swing, causing a massive loop at the top of back swing leading to a in to out swing path. Good for a draw, but nothing else. I followed both your tips during my last round and shot an 82 (with ice on some greens) including a 280 yard drive, which almost gave me a nose bleed 😁. It even helped with my short game. These tips are brilliant, but it makes me wonder why after 35 years playing and numerous professional lessons, this is the first time I have seen this. You are a true hero👍

Danny this is fantastic! I’ve been a “roller” of my wrist in the takeaway ever since I started playing 15 years ago. Ive watched countless videos trying to find a correction, but nothing seemed to work (in the interest of fairness, a couple of them were yours). Took this to the range today and noticed a difference in my ball striking immediately - it’s by far the most concise explanation of how to maintain the Y I’ve come across. Can’t wait to keep grooving this and work up to a full swing!

Hi Danny just watched this video. This body shape is a real eye opener it is the basic but crucial position that players of my level don't maintain throughout the swing, it tends to break down after the takeaway. Once the body stops turning due to lack of flexibility we continue on, manipulating the rest of the swing with our arms. Destroying any chance of a repetitive result. Your tip using the tail of the Y is fantastic. This should give us the cue when your body has run out of rotation the wrists come into play and it's time to end the backswing. Giving us the correct length of backswing in relation to our flexibility. Thank you for giving us your insights and help they really are so welcome. Happy new year and wish you all the best for 2024

Kudos to your videographer for the excellent sound quality in the gail force winds! Regarding the swing tip, I discovered this breakdown in my swing a few weeks ago. Brilliant again, Danny. Always struggled with consistency in takeaway and rolling formarms. Every time i tried drills to fix this, my swing became wooden. I did this today and really helped ball flights, distance, and even pitch shots. Also, I found that keeping my fingers relaxed and making sure the takeaway was straight back and not inside eliminated bad strikes. 🙂

My playing partner took a video of my swing and on seeing this video I have noticed exactly what you have showed. I lost the Y at the 3 o'clock - this is a light bulb moment. Hi Danny; I found something that really helps to begin the backswing before anything else happens. I make a small forward weight shift but not moving the club before I start taking the club back for momentum rather than taking it back from a static position. It makes my takeaway much smoother & prevents taking it back too quickly.

Once again a very interesting video and funnily enough it goes with a video about the "Y to Y" concept by Rick Smith, which I came across by chance last week. And today your great video on a similar topic with great exercises. You have sweetened my Saturday! I can hardly wait to try it out on the driving range. I must try to get a life coaching lesson from you one day. Your ability to explain golf is second to none and your drills are so simple and easy to adapt. A few weeks ago my brother-in-law told me he had stumbled across a great teaching Pro on KZread (Hi Andreas btw in case you read this). I should definitely have a look at him, he would love to take a lesson with him. His name was Danny Maude (sorry for the initial misspelling). I gave him a big smile and said that I'd been following him for more than 2 years. And that watching your videos has been part of my Saturday ritual ever since. You've sweetened my Saturday again. Hello Danny, thank you for your exercise with the little balloons. I tried it in our Toptracer box today. Although without the balloon but with the imagination and concentration it was between my hands. This works great 👍. Straight, very few mistakes and also longer shots. Gap wedge 105 - 115 yards 😊.

I watched the video Sunday night and tried the swing on Monday. I was amazed as how well I was hitting the ball. Because the weather was cold when we started, 34 degrees, I had a heavy vest and was unable to make a big back swing. As long as I keep a tight Y going back and a tight Y going through the results were great.

Hi Danny, first at all, thanks for all your amazing videos. What I like the most is your passion. Keep it up. I just want to say that sometimes is confusing. In lots of videos, your backswing is on waiter plate position for your right wrist. But recently, like in your last video, you encourage the backswing with the palm of your right arm to be far from your body while you squeeze your elbows. In other videos you encourage to do the swing among the swing plane, while in others you encourage to first let the club fall down and later rotate. It’s like two different approaches at being taught and make me confused. Cheers.

Hey Daniel, thanks so much for the feedback. These are just feelings but the concept remains very much the same. Holding the club at the top like a waiters table is still the end product 👍

Another great lesson and thank you. I've struggled in recent years with my takeaway, not rotating the body enough and compensating by bending my lead arm. This, naturally leads to inconsistent ball striking and the occasional wayward shot (and frustration). I blew out from 6 to 10, am back to 8 and am hoping to get below 5 before I leave this earth! At 56 it's time to focus on flexibility to I can properly maintain the "Y" with full rotation and in conjunction, I will be doing these drills and look forward to the results! Big thanks and cheers from sunny Sydney - Dave
