I'd like a pair of these once I've had a good few months in my Vivos. That little bit of cushion would make a big difference. Just need to train myself not to heel strike as soon as I have some cushion. I'll wait for your full review mate, cheers 👍🏻🏃‍♂️

Tirnan, I would like to try the female version of these. Currently run in Vivobarefoot, but would like a tad more cushioning for longer runs without compromising ground feel. I’ve had Altra Lone Peaks before so love the wide toe box. Just wonder how do they come up size wise? Thanks for your no nonsense review!

Depends what you goals are, I think I’ll only buy them once purely to try them… but I can’t see myself buying them more than once because of the pricetag just to go a little faster

You can take out the insole for a little less cushion if you want. That's what I usually do to make it more minimalist

Hi, I mostly use Xero HFS (same pair in the videos, 1085 miles on them by now 🤣) I use Vivos sometimes… don’t use the Altra Escalante any more.

How is the toe bend/flexibility compared to Nike Free?

I've never tried the Nike Free, but this shoe is not very flexible in my opinion

Love the racers, bummed that they’re being discontinued. Hope the Escalante 3 drops a bit of weight to help fill the gap left by the Racer. The Vanish Carbon is legit. Best left for race day and key workouts IMO, but the shoe can fly so if you’re competitive it’s well worth it.

Key race specific workouts, not all workouts. Love the Racers for the workhorse speed/tempo day shoe.

Yeah I heard the added cushion to the escalates so I went ahead and got these. Gonna try these Vanish Carbons mainly for the feeling of going faster more than anything. Not too bothered about shaving seconds of my times, but it’s a added bonus for sure

What benefit would that give?

Blue and green should never be seen... that's what I remember from art class.. 🤣 I'm really trying to get into minimalist running shoes, but man, they need to hire Nike designers...

Yeah I think there’s only so much you can do with them to be honest, even if you have great designers the flat look, looks strange to me. It’s definitely function not fashion with them. Although I would class these shoes as “Semi-Minimalist” as they are zero drop, firm without much stack height, that’s my personal opinion. Have you tried any minimalist shoes?

@@TirnanHealy I've been trying the Merrell Trail Glove 6s, but long runs on pavement are killing me due to absolutely no cushioning. So today I bought..... Altra Escalante Racers hahahaha... we'll see how they go, hopefully they're not too cushioned.
