You know what would be cool, rather than a new coaster, upgrades to the others. Like adding more to oblivion to make it longer, add another lift hill and 7 inversions to smiler because ok, convert rita into an lsm multi launch, add more to nemesis and galactica and add some other feature to 13.

Apparently Merlin don't invest in flat rides because they are hard to market, seems possible knowing Merlin but it's just a rumour..

@@cocajazz I assume you are on about Tussaud's successful marketing formula for Rameses, mostly due to Chessington's lack of major thrills and a unique concept at the time but it's a different scenario for Merlin. They've been known to invest in huge and exciting rides and yeah a new type of flat ride would be better but would be a risk for Merlin cause as we all know they cherish every penny.

A coaster that looks like it plunges into water like "Diving Coaster Vanish" in Yokohama Cosmoworld. It isn't a world first but it's a spectacle they could do with at AT. They could configure it around a water coaster too (the Cosmoworld ride 'plunges' into water that makes up part of a log flume).

I actually really like Rita, nice simple theme, good vibes, good fun and a great starter ride for the kids. I still enjoy it too, love the atmosphere of the 'escape' and the launch. Idk why everyone loves to hate it so much.

Alton Towers used to do a great job of themeing areas, now weve got galactica next to Nemesis. They could have made some effort to link the two. Maybe you could have been flying through space, chaing the nemesis alien. Thirteen should have been built in gloomy wood. Wicker man, isnt too bad, as its wooden, it almost fits with its surrounding, but the horror aspect, would have suited being closer to gloomy wood too.

I think Alton towers already has such a good line up of coasters that they should focus on redoing some lands (Adventureland, gloomy wood and adding Air’s original planned theming etc.) and add some good thrilling flat rides like a gyro swing, drop tower (maybe a family one like the one at paultons park cus of the height restriction) or the robot arm concept!

I genuinely love rita to pieces but i wouldn’t be sad to see it removed in favour of an intamin blitz/mack multi launch, it’s just too short and the queues ramp up to 90 minutes at the best of times

Towers should 100% get an slc . That would add a really great experience at the worst park in the uk! Just so you know. I am joking

Fun fact, Alton Towers code name their ride SW(number) because the ride is a first on a world type for example. Nemesis, first invented coaster in Europe Air, First flying coaster in the world Galactica, First roller coaster dedicated to VR Oblivion, first drop coaster in the world Wickerman, First coaster to combined natural enemies (Fire and wood) You get the gist

Lets Go!! I was featured! :))) and yeah, definitely needing some more flat rides, and water rides, they've got rid of the twirling toadstool, energiser, ripsaw and blade might be going. Then there's the rapids, either refurbish it properly or remove them in place for a better water ride. But still, I am really going to miss hearing Th13teen, nemesis and The Smiler's soundtracks ;((. hopefully this corona pandemic is cleared up within a few months, every remember to wash your hands, cover your face when coughing or sneezing and Stay away from people!! good luck guy! we can do this!

Can Alton towers even pull off a good b&m winged with the height restrictions. As much as I’d love it I have my doubts.

To be honest I kind of agree I'd be happy to see Rita replaced. It is 15 years old now and the gimmick of its launch has worn off and minus the launch at the start it's a pretty bland ride with a very uninspiring track layout. Plus, as you mentioned, it doesn't fit in with the theming of the Dark Forest area at all, so now seems as good a time as any to replace it was something better.

Rita is "not bad" or "OK?" I must be mad when I say that having ridden every single ride at every single UK Merlin theme park, Rita remains my all-time favourite coaster in the UK.

@@V-13579 I love Rita because it's just so exhilarating. The launch is very intense and absolutely breathtaking, causing you to be pinned back into your seat and experience an awesome churning sensation in the pit of your stomach that I have not felt on any other ride I have ridden in the country. Then there is just the non-stop speed as you navigate your way around the track and the quick bursts of airtime you experience on the two hills. It's just one of those rides that left me so awestruck that I simply couldn't wait to ride it again and again. When I stepped off, I felt like I had just experienced travelling at the speed of sound for about twenty seconds. I have to confess, Rita is a little rough in some places but for me, this made the ride more intense. Rita may lack height, inversions and loops but I love it for its launch that is just second to none and feels out of this world as well as its constant speed. It may a short coaster but the feeling you experience will stay with you for many weeks to come after riding it.

i’ve seen some people saying that it might go near Wicker Man, cus they’ve got Nemesis and Galactica, Oblivion and Smiler, and Rita and Thirteen. So Wicker Man is alone and they could be planning to make it another duo 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I don’t think they should build on the galactic car park as is right next to splash landing and the golf course also it would block if the walk way for the car park and hotel which would make the lines for the massive. But I think it would be good if they built a roller coaster on the car park and they could theme galactic as good as wicker man it would be amazing

could you do a video about drayton manor's next possible coaster, and about shockwave potentially being changed into a sit down coaster and future theming ideas etc

I can’t see a major coaster being built on the site of Rita it would need to go out into the woods other wise it would end being Rita but with a worse launch

A ride similar to corkscrew especially seeing the original Corkscrew coaster in the beginning..

An RMC Raptor can have a 900/hour throughput if it’s the larger model...but I think it would be either an RMC T-Rex or S&S Axis...hopefully the UK could get Both one at Thorpe and one at Alton Towers.

Does anyone else notice like about 1 minuet before entering the Alton towers gates as you go through the woods (in the car before you enter the entire park) you see a roller coaster that isn’t active

No wing coaster Thorpe park is a couple hours away I don’t really know they have like every b&m in the chain and none of them apart from nemesis are that good it’s tough as they only really work with a couple of manufacturers

Another suggestion is not a secret weapon, if they just theme the car park to a new area, they could just put a few flats and maybe something like flying fish just to stop us saying add more flats

I really want Alton to get another B&M Coaster, perhaps B&M can do a mini version of a hyper so basically their version of a mega lite or hyper gt x.

Alton Towers needs a heavily themed winged launch coaster, a couple of flat rides and a couple of brilliant dark rides and it would improve the ranking of the park amongst other European parks ten fold.

This is really wierd but I really wanna see a splash landings expansion maybe with a new slide complex and some new themed part of the waterpark

A coaster in gloomy wood area wood be fantastic in my opinion something to tie in with the haunted house maybe and as you say there anit much there so they should use the space

Ones I would do: Bat wing coaster gloomy wood Intamin blitz in Ritas space Family launch in the car park behind Galactica Big Dipper in spinballs space

Since Alton towers likes making world's first or world record breaking rides, I think Alton towers will add a roller coaster having the steepest drop then any other coaster in the world

They have 8 coasters at alton now. Time to focus on rebranding, restructure and renewing to create more of an atmosphere inside the park I think. Atm there's far too much wasted space. Just expanding into the carpark and plonking a new Major coaster there isnt going to improve the outlook of other areas of the park and If Alton Towers is going to show itself as an experience theme park they need to concentrate more on that. Instead of how many major coasters they can build.

I could see a Intamin Mega Coaster or Chance Hyper GTX because alton towers really doesnt have that hyper air time feel kind of coaster. That be best option for them.

Am I the only one that would like one of Vekoma's newer custom Shockwave models? Lech Coaster and Abyssus look fantastic, I'd be happy if they got one of them.

What about the RMC T-rex which is rumoured to be in development? That would be super cool and would probably solve the capacity issue that you spoke about with the raptor.

@cumquatrct3 Dig underground.... have you seen what they did with the smiler. They managed to cram the most inversions into an incredibly compact space through clever land usage. If Alton towers is good at anything it's their land usage.

I think that Alton towers should add a rollercoaster like tidal wave from Drayton manor in the galactica car park . They should also probably post something on social media letting a guest design and theme a roller coaster . Maybe a new part of the park with a movie theme . Also , A NEW WATER RIDE

because galactica and nemesis are next to eachother and they are both themed about space and aliens. they could have a launch coaster ( abit smaller than stealth ) and it could be like a rocket going into space .
