@danielledewitt1 Yes which we've heard before and it is scheduled to be opened for opening day but whether it will be consistently open is yet to be seen.

i agree with the point at the end, that says if alton keeps the way it is, universal will pretty much barnstorm the uk theme park scene

Yeah.. 100% Thankfully looks like merlin are starting to implement things that will stop them falling to far behind though.

I do mention some people may have had better days in the video.. unfortunately however, this wasnt consistent throughout the year.

I think the reason why 2023 wasn't as good, was because of nemesis Due to the re-track probably being really expensive, they have not been able to keep the park working properly, and re-track nemesis as well Genuinely, i don't have anything against nemesis, but as someone who didn't go to a theme park from alton towers opening day and at Disneyland paris in 2016 or 2015, i don't really see bad quality properly I just find, for Alton towers, you need to go with the right people, cause i went with the wrong people on my second and final trip to Alton towers in 2023, and despite me advising we go on stuff like rita first, they forced me onto the wicker man first, and that was 2 hours of waiting. Im pretty sure if we went on rita first, we would've at least done nemesis sub-terra, that i really wanted to do. Still though, The Smiler needs more lore

Im going to have to disagree. Last year was bad because of years of neglect by the park and merlin. Nemesis had nothing to do with it as the park had been slowly declining from that neglect. I am speaking from an enthusiasts perspective and from the average consumer. Sure the people you go with would have an effect in how you enjoy your day but that isnt what the video is about and having gone to alton towers for years with the right people that was never an issue and even if it was the issues ive spoke about above would still exist. In addition, whilst you can get on more rides by doing the park in a certain order this has nothing to do with the operations at the park so im surprised you got to that conclusion from the points i made in the video. Overall i have nothing against alton towers but Nemesis has nothing to do with last year being bad. Years of neglect, planning and overall care is what lead to it.

I know it’s off-topic, but speaking of the Blackpool illuminations, BPPB definitely need to light up the big one during the illuminations because it just kills the vibes lol

Haven’t seen roaming actors for ages. Maybe the occasional one but the only time I’ve seen it proper was like on 2018. I always spend each year looking for them and being half upset thinking I was in the wrong area at the wrong time

Seen nothing online to 100% confirm its dark grey or black but considering a research of oblivion 100% confirms that oblivion is dark grey (meant to be) then ill agree with what youre saying. Either way dark grey (the shade they go for) is extremely close to black and doesnt change the original point that it desperately needs a repaint all over.

I agree with all of this. Also believe their early entry for hotel guests and pass holders needs to actually have rides open. Instead of being let in an hour before and then standing outside of Smiler/Wickerman or something else waiting to be let in. It's early entry to literally just queue 😂

Oh wow, yeah, never even thought about this 😅 should 100% be standard, especially with the price they charge for an overnight stay. Hopefully its something they look into as it would most likely encourage people to stay overnight as well just for that extra hour or riding.

When I went in July, the operations were actually pretty good

It’s interesting to see what will happen , after all , Alton has a big opportunity with nemesis 2.0 will bring numbers so they should nail this chance. I can agree there are little factors which you mentioned like the cleanliness and being up to date and on top of making it neat Overall , Alton have a chance next szn and need to take advantage of it !

Yupp 100% merlin themselves not just alton have a huge year to take advantage of. Big year for them for sure.

Alton towers main problem is that they cant build above the tree line...lets see a giga

Wouldnt say its their biggest problem mainly as theyve built some great coasters below the tree limit. Makes the park very unique

There problem is them having a massive grip over the UK industry with no competition, meaning they don't have to compete and build new rides

@TheOfficialSmudgy yup. This right here. Very little competition which allows the monopoly merlin hold. Thankfully with universal hopefully having a park by the end of the decade that should encourage them to put more effort/work into their park

Also Food prices are awful… they need to bring back the high street brands.

having visited lots of european parks I doubt I will ever visit AT again (maybe once to ride Nemesis 2.0)

They need to have longer opening hours in June, July and August. Shutting at 6pm on those months is not good.

Hi, thank you 😊 Yup all merlin parks have been given some money for sparkle (main focus on thorpe). Only things weve really heard this money used for atm is washing rita but hopefully more has been done around the park!

@anniejones1555 yep 100% needs to re open. I completely forgot to include that in the video but it should be one of the priorities of this season especially for guests who may not be able to walk around all day.
