The original Haunted House ride in Alton Towers had such amazing scary scenes from 1992 to 2002. 🏚️👻 1. A foyer with a haunted doll house 2. An eerie loading area with marble busts 3. Walls that move and turn in a dark corridor 4. A dining room with two big demonic ghosts 5. A giant skull with glowing red eyes 6. Monstrous spirits bursting into windows 7. A giant monster staring through a window 8. Giant spiders in a hall of cobwebs 9. A few skeletons in the hallway 10. Screaming ghostly faces in the dark 11. A Creepy undertaker and his ghostly hearse 12. A grinning ghoul with a scary cackle 13. A statue of the Grim Reaper 14. A pillar monster 15. Swamp monsters and ghouls 16. A giant snake coming out of a gargoyle’s mouth and the very end of the ride

Such a fun ride, great to see it in its opening years.

Pitch perfect ghost train back in the day 👌Now this was much later on but does anyone remember that skeleton with the axe? They placed it where the one on the toilet used to be.

Well remembered, I only have a few photos of that but no video, that was from an often forgotten revamp in 1999

I think Alton Towers’ original Haunted House ride was awesome with two giant green monsters, an oversized skull with glowing red eyes, some giant spiders, several screaming faces in the darkness, a creepy undertaker, and some monsters and ghouls in the dark garden scene. TERRIFYING!!!!! 🏚️👻😱🇬🇧

I will miss the screaming heads

Great ride so many memories I think they have spoilt it now and called it dual so sad 👍

It's no longer Duel, but The Curse at Alton Manor. The guns are removed, but most of the old scenery and props from the original Haunted House have been removed.

@@cjcadventures No worries. Personally I wouldn't bother visiting the park for only The Curse at Alton Manor. It's a good quality attraction, but all the character and style of the original ride is just all ripped out apart from the Giant Spider, though that now has cartoon like flashing eyes. The new ride is scary, but not fun, if you get what I mean. The original had a great balance of that, and more variety in terms of monsters. The new ride only has the little girl, Emily, dolls, and spiders. No more flying demons, skeletons, lunatic in cave, column monster, etc. The flying heads are present, but the actual head props are new, and aren't as good Personally. I didnt like it because looking back I hadnt edited it accurately, it was a combination of 1992, 1993 and 1995 footage when the ride had changed each year
