My mother went there for day trips with her family in the 60’s, and she still goes 50 years later, despite how much it has changed

Been there many times, but not as it is from this film, wish I had been a visitor back in 66, I was led to believe this park came about in the late 70's, so much for reliable information, great piece of old England, all the same.

I couldn't agree more. I live in Alton. My grandfather worked there for nearly 50 yrs as a master potter. I've been there 100s of times. I went last year & I'll never go again. It broke my heart. It's a s##thole. I can get in for free with local residents passes...no thanks. I'll stick with my memories.

Seeing old footage creeps me out. Majority of adults in their 30’s in this video are likely dead now. I’m 30 now and still feel so young. Time is scary.

I went there back in the 60s, and it was a lovely place. Even as a child i preferred gardens to rides. I went back again in the early 2000s and didnt recognise the place. It had become my idea of hell on earth.

I wonder if they make queueing miserable to encourage people to buy skip the queue passes? Like a razor and blades model. Make it relatively cheap to get in and extortionate to skip the queue. I have absolutely no clue. I've never been as an adult so have no clue about prices.
