I keep a small 3×4 booklet nextto where I sit & watch utube videos on junk journalling. I jot down EVERYTHING I want to remember---a glue name, website, paint name, book, quote, instructions, etc. I sometimes put some of the information into a more permanent place, but keeping a small book handy will reward you many times over.

This is a great idea, I also keep a journal of all of pam ideas, as pam makes them on utube, I make them as well, then I slip into plastic pockets into a ring binder and can look back at what was made on that utube. Thanks for sharing.

Keeping lists and ideas on my phone makes it easier to keep up with. I lose my written notes so much. 😊

" The Season's" by Louis Lawrence compiled 1887-1890, first published 1981. This book has beautiful drawings, the poetry is very much from the 19th century perspective. The script is beautiful and most art work is sepia. Over all a beautiful book for junk journaling.

After discovering the world of junk journaling through you tube, on my first ever thrift trip to find “a cool old book” I run across the country diaries and grabbed it for $1.50 mostly because of the beautiful handwriting and pictures. I didn’t know what a treasure it was. Today I see that as a sign that I’m on the right path!! Haha

When I was 12-14 years old I collected bugs and would pin them to cardboard ( after they were in a jar of alcohol soaked cloth). I also made my very first book of leaves , leaves were covered in contact paper, I wrote what type of plant or tree they came from.

Same here, and 30 years later I was a Science teacher doing the same thing in teacher summer workshops! Twenty middle-aged women with kill jars, plant presses, field guides and butterfly nets get off a bus in Texas and people don't bat an eye. :-) I still have the Contac paper-covered pressed plants and will be adding them to my junk journals!

I miss your older videos where we just simply craft along with you for an hour while you experiment with techniques and trying things that pop into your head. I still love your videos now, but it was nice when it was just us, you, and the paper supplies for the whole video and you lost track of time. Kind of like having a friend over to make beautiful things together. I find myself gravitating toward the videos where people show what they are doing without turning most things into a tutorial or “how to.” This is not a criticism, just sharing. ❤ Love your chatter and Sunny’s pupdates! Also, I never hear Holly and the lovebirds anymore, did their cages get moved? 😢 Bless you, Pam, for trying to keep up with this crazy world! Hugs to you, Papa, and the menagerie!

I do this with color books, or anything I like a lot and might want to use multiple times. I've learned so much from you and so grateful you share your learning experiences. I do this with almanacs, encyclopedias, mich more ❤❤❤

(It’s a daily thing this summer. ☹️) I’ve found some great ‘picture books’, field guides, or ‘coffee table books’ on the big books shelf at local thrift shop. Half price day twice a year. 😁 Once I get past the gotta pet it and look at it phase (which takes a while) I cut ‘em up. 😁 Have a great evening everyone! ❤️

Hi Pam. Watching your video and I love idea of caterpillar digi and I thought about cattails and as I am writing this you mentioned them! Lol. I haven’t gone through all your digi’s but you don’t have one I would love to see one. Thank you for wonderful videos and inspiration.

I have a family member that works in a library and she was saying how they have to gut books that need to be taken out of circulation. Now I have a direct line to resources 🥰

I use various AI graphic creators. For instance, I just got a STUNNING image of a robin using NightCafe. Prompt was super easy. "Watercolor drawing of a robin in the style of Edith Holden".

Good information. I just went to a used bookstore where most of the books are just .25. I could have spent all day in there just browsing. It's a junk journalers' haven in there.😊

Dandelions are amazing. One of the few flowers that can be in bloom and going to seed at the same time. (Yellow flowers and the poofs). Also, all parts of the dandelion are edible. Roots, leaves, stems, flowers. (Not that the seeds would taste great… 😂) There are many flowers that look like dandelion that are not quite as desirable or simply not food, but the dandelion is.

Just an FYI, during the depression my mother, as a child would gather cattails to eat. She said they tasted like corn.
