Alternative investments features and methods (for the CFA Level 1 exam) defines alternative investments as an asset classes and exlores the basic characteristics of its primary sub-categories:
- private capital, including private equity (PE), private debt and venture capital (VC),
- real estate,
- infrastructure,
- natural resources, including commodities,
- hedge funds, and
- collectibles.
We also discuss the methods by which market participants add alternative investments to their portfolios:
- fund investment,
- co-investment, and
- direct investment.
This video explores topics covered in Sections 2 and 3, Learning module 1 of the Alternative Investments section of the 2024 CFA Level 1 Curriculum.

Hi, I don't provide any form of CFA tuition other than the content created for this channel. The aim is to keep uploading Level 1 videos so as to achieve comprehensive coverage of the entire Level 1 Curriculum in the time until the November 2024 exam session and then move on to Level 2 and Level 3 content.
