"Entente" is not the French word for "alliance" tho. "Alliance" is part of those transparent words which the English language stole from French; and thus we do use "alliance" too.

Entente is French for accord or agreement, not alliance. One could interpret it as an agreement to take down the French, used ironically by using their own language.

Actually 'la tyrannie' could have just referred to the Bourbons. Not monarchy in general. Plus Napoleon used le Marseillaise (sorry for the spelling) anyway

@@indranilbose9454 but Napoleon was not a monarch, he was an Autocratic leader(Emperor) of the French Empire. Napoleon III was Monarchist, but the 1st Napoleon was Liberalist. So Marseilles is perfectly normal for him.
