I've been loving the One Minute Overviews, the editing is super clean and the pitch of the deck followed by a little combo makes it a fun way to sell the deck(even if it's jank) and some nice quick reference. I was skeptical about moving the jank to shorts, but i really like it

That's why I have an Altergeist deck AND a Labrynth deck.

The timing of this video couldn’t be more ironic. Just mopped an altergeist deck with my labrynth deck.

The only thing holding this deck back imo is the lack of a 1-card starter. All Altergeist needs is an in-archetype Link-1 so they can trigger Meluseek for a search, then start Link climbing.

So the support isn't good enough to make Altergeist competitive again? Oh no, I'm sure everyone will be completely heartbroken by this news!

I remember the altergeist discord being so disappointed. Basically, it boiled down to. “If I wanted to play a trap deck that combos, I would rather just play Traptrix, because at least those don’t die to any interruption ever. However, why would I play Traptrix, which sucks going second, when Labrynth exists, which is just on top”

@@EternalTruth18 Adminia is a nice boss monster as a link4 alternative to the otk juggernaut Memorygant. Malwisp is Faker's partner that can get stuff from GY, very well designed and needed. Finally instead of an inferior Melu/Manif i would just give them their Link 1, setting "Spoofing" from deck and making it activatable on summon, with a quick effect in GY to banish itself in order to summon a non-Link Extra Deck monster (treated as a proper summon) to make Dragvirion usable as well as leaving the window open for potential Fusion/Xyz support OR have a backrow removal substitute effect (like if a set card would be destroyed or banished while you control a geist, banish this card in the gy instead). I believe this is totally in-theme with the deck, allowing it to establish it's small engine (that will snowball in 3 turns instead of 1) while also having the room for backrow because it is a backrow deck. This is like TOSS Salads, not geist. I really dislike how they turn every control deck into Traptrix with legacy support.

​@@matthewbrady1562Geists are not strong vs control decks. They get shat on by almost every control deck. Eldlich destroys them. Labrynth destroys them. True Draco destroys them. Salamangreat destroys them. Traptrix destroys them. Strikers destroy them if they don't open Anti-Spell/Village. Altergeist excels in monster-focused matchups since Silquitous bouncing ED monsters, Protocol negating monster effects, and Solemn Strike wrecking boards is extreme value. Pair this with Imperm+Faker combo and how you come up with the idea that Geists excel against control decks is beyond me.

Remember, one of the altergeist traps makes Skill drain basically do nothing since it keeps altergeist monster effects from having their effects negated

@@CollyTVbro you have to discard 2 cards to negate one trap. And they HAVE to be Altergeist monsters. There’s a very good reason nobody was playing it before the support. It’s only good for the two card combos it enables.

Labrynth also has the benefit of being a) one of the lesbian archetypes and b) the only deck I've played where I set three and passed and my opponent immediately surrendered.

Idk if this is a hot take or something but I really like yugioh currently. The amount of decks that have gotten support and are playable at a reasonable level is actually really high and it personally just makes me happy to encounter so many different decks. Of course most of these strategies aren’t Meta but considering what Meta means and how fickle the yugioh community is with their views on their game and its decks… unless you are one of a select 4 maybe 5 decks you are seen as “bad”. But overall I think this year has been a hit for YuGiOh decks!! DUNE and AGOV especially seem to have so many contents that are genuinely interesting!

For the combo shown, i have an improvement. Summon Admina to the exm and leave the hexdia zone open. Then on the standby phase use manifestation to revive primebanshee next to hexdia, while also triggering multiplayer. Now you not only keep the admina to rob your opponent’s board, but when banshee is tributed you can add back malwisp from your gy and summon for a double charged hexdia. He did everything right, it could just be better.

I figure a similar video for the recent DM/Gaia fusion isn't in the cards, since Monstrous Revenge is kind of old news now. But part of me wanted to see your take on the thing. Most of the KZreadrs critiqued it as a DM card and compared it to the much better Dragon Knight and Dark Dragoon. For my part, when it came out, I thought maybe it was meant for the Gaia archetype instead. But it's kind of hard to find actual Gaia players to ask if it actually does anything for their archetype.

I don't mind one minute testing but man, I have to say that most of the featured decks would greatly benefit from a TMT to accompany them

I played against this at a locals. It's hard to figure out where to interrupt them and it seems pretty darn consistent. The only reason i beat them is because in both games i outed their board while Secret Village was on the field. He probabaly shouldn't have been playing spell cards now that i think about it.

​@@SerindipitousMeluseek turn 1 and Spoofing are the only safe Ash targets. If you try to Ash Faker past turn zero, Protocol turns it into a hard neg.

God the deck looks so cool and has a lot of space for non-engine, but at this point, two card combos just do not cut it and drawing those non-engine cards right away just feels bad. Such a shame, I really love the concept of these glitchy ghastly gals.

me looking at the royal rare Hextia I pulled while trying to build live twins realizing I'm gonna have to build this stupid deck in a year when the dune support comes out in MD.

Altergiests win the psychological war vs opponents like no other deck. The MOMENT they see your Fakers, Seeks, and Silqs w/traps activating, they start making mistakes, and get careless as your resources keep coming back while you bounce and pop cards. Post new support now the deck combos. Without Erad, Lab doesnt have that negative impact on an opponent's mental health and overall sanity like Giests do. This was true in MR 4 and its still true now. It's so fucking annoying to face. It is legit torture.deck.

If only the the archetype would be properly powered in Duel Links. They made sure to KNEECAP like a Don...Pookie alone would make it viable....

I use altergeist becuase I want to play traps while being unique. You play altergeist because you want to see what degenerate combos you can make with them. We are not the same.

Before things got too weird I had a spirit/trap deck, with traps getting reset with Tsukuyomi. It wasn’t the most powerful deck, but it could have been one of the more annoying ones.
