Tremonti's riffs are sick.I can still hear his tone in this song from his days in Creed.

I work in radio. It's to keep the peace. Playing too much AB would expose how much of a vapid, gutless waste the rest of industry churns out. You don't want to be the newest flash-in-the-pan band in the rotation following AB.

Got to see them last night in my hometown finally after 20 years. They traded off guitar solos and lead vocals between Mark and Myles just to show how well rounded they are. Mark killed it on vocals and Myles had some extremely heartfelt solos.

Laying here listening to this song, showing my friends the awesomeness. Never gets old

One of the most killer bands out there. Between Myles singing, & Mark tearing up those riffs, great band. Two very very underrated musicians.

I think many people are forgetting a lot of a bands “sound” is the guitar section... This “sound” is very much Tremonti’s natural style. It’s going to show no matter what he does. With that being said, his skill level and song writing abilities are wayyyyyy above the credit he gets for it. Fucking awesome 👌🏼

From the first time I heard this song, I knew this was a band I'd follow. 15 years and so many killer tracks later, they are my favorite band working today.

Nostalgia. I heard it first time on VH1 when I was shuffling through channels. I couldn't listen to the whole song because it already played for 2:00 mins I guess. But I can vividly remember Myles Kennedy's voice. To be honest that's what caught my attention. Since then I became an explorer of music and have searched and listened to various artists of different genres, languages, etc. So, thank you Alterbridge for introducing me too such a delicate part of human life, MUSIC.

Dude Myles is just phenomenal. Sometimes you forget and take it for granted. But, this song brings me back to the first time hearing him. And damn, I was so blown away by the quality of his voice and still am.

Damn sick music you could never walkaway without falling in love..... The song and voices of Alter Bridge with a soul of CREED.... And the earth underneath collapses with such an overwhelming magnitude....

Thank you for writing music that matters and is memorable and done with talent effort passion and pride. Be proud it’s music that makes you want to listen and crank it loud. True music and talented musicians will always be my choice. Bravo.

I feel like this song was originally written for Creed’s use. Seeing as this was off Alter Bridge’s debut album, it’s entirely possible that some Wind-Up Records label execs pushed targeted Creed singles onto Alter Bridge as a guarantee for success. The opening riff is signature Tremonti-Creed (think “Higher”). Even Myles Kennedy’s voice is contained within a melodic range that Scott Stapp would’ve been comfortable in. They’ve since broken free of those kinds of songs. But this ...I always think, “this had to have been a Creed song first,” every time I hear it.

Kris S. It was intended to be a Creed record! Mark said the album was written before Myles had even joined. It’s in some interview in a guitar magazine from like 2005 lol. I’m sure the solos were either not there or toned down massively.

I approached it with skepticism as I recall reading somewhere that Tremonti said all the songs from this album were written specifically for Alter Bridge and that there’s an entirely different catalog of songs ready for Creed, should that ever happen again. ...Yeah, sure. 🤣 Some, if not most of these songs are totally Creed songs.

It is very Creed-ish, but what would one expect from 3/4 of the band on their first effort. There were hints the band could play like they do, just not many.

pegcitykid No disputing that. I play the way I play in most bands. I think I sound different, but I have too many people saying it’s signature “me”. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My initial point is that I strongly suspected these songs were Creed bound (eg: originally written for Creed). And I’ll be very upfront here: I historically have not and still don’t like Creed, which now is anchored around Scott Stapp. That’s an entirely different discussion with many facets. However, Alter Bridge has grown into something unbelievable. I think Myles inspires them and vice-versa. I could never mistake Alter Bridge’s current material for Creed at all. They’ve definitely grown as a band, and have been given the breathing room to flourish.

I dunno... Scott Stapp used to be an incredible vocalist, but I think Myles is better and this song would've never been as good with Scott singing it.

That solo came out of nowhere! Awesome.
