“Blackbird" was inspired lyrically by a friend of mine named Mark Morse. He sold me my first guitar when I was a kid, and we stayed friends for years and years. He actually passed away right as that song was being completed so it was dedicated to him and his memory.

I used the lyrics slightly modified for my first born daughter(Natalie) funeral she was 3 days old full term, she had a very severe congenital heart condition. She was born with her angel wings, one day I too will find her again. She would be 16 now, but in heaven.

You see majority of people today aren’t even singing it all backing tracks and majority can’t sing the voice you hear on the radio is studioed heavily but these guys like some other band play real Music just then there voice and instruments great band love alter bridge

This band is a multi-generational talent. Mark's got a great voice on his Tremonti stuff, and Myles' guitar work is stellar in it's own right. Lame comments spoken anywhere about this band come from music casuals without a clue. If they only knew.

Mark is one of the best guitarists in rock - ever.

@@X976V3Tyou may be an expert but it may surprise you to know that in 2011, this solo was named “The Greatest Guitar Solo of all time” by Guitarist Magazine. Not my favourite by any means but it deserves some respect nonetheless.

Definitely is one of the best, it’s funny how people say “oh no it’s not” it’s bloody subjective, we all can have different tastes. Anyway the best solo is Pantera Cemetery Gates.

If you haven't seen them live, you gotta do it. They are absolutely incredible. You will shed a tear and get loads of goosebumps, they are that good. So together, so professional, so everything and you will be moved. Wembley 2013 was awesome.

Still have Marks plectrum.. I kinda stood out in the crowd. Being 6'4".. shaved head. Looking more like a raver than a metalhead.. Mark looked me in the eyes and wouldnt turn away until I gave him an 'up the irons'... he laughed, nodded his head and went back to crowd. One of my finer moments in life. After the show he made sure I got one of his plectrums. Core memory

How does this band sound better live than on the record?! Absolutely amazing, love every bit of it.

Alter bridge is beyond awesome. I was at their Amsterdam concert (recorded) and seriously, they can match the best rock bands on earth. Truly underrated, can be loud as Metallica, can be soulful and thoughtful as the Beatles.. respect AB !

Wow! I have never heard of this band, WHY? They are so professional and integrated with each other. That performance gave an old bloke tingles down my spine. Hearing this sond performed live has given me a whole new appreciation for it, and it was already my favourite AB track. As a singer, I aspire to perform with this much passion and soul ❤

I play guitar and sing too and I’m from tallahassee Florida and creed was my first concert in 97 for my own prison .. birthplace of Creed, Floyd’s Music Store.. when alterbridge was formed, their first live show was Tallahassee at Floyd’s and the show was insane ! Myles just blew me away .. the way he sings, his vocal range .. it was epic ! Then to put icing on the cake, I waited with some others by their bus out back and Myles and mark and flip talked to me and my friends for about an hour . They were so damn cool and down to earth .. I wish I could sing half as good as Myles

I am lucky that I have a high voice I guess cause the range isn't an issue but in the studio version he holds some notes so fucking long it's a pain.

Without any question, epic tune, masterful musicians, galactically talented vocals, top five all time favorite artists.

one of my best friends passed away this week, and I have been singing this song to him. He was a very good person.

Definitely one of the greatest metal songs of all time.

I just saw them perform in my hometown in Pennsylvania----wow!!!!! If Miles isn't one of the greatest rock vocalists, I do not know who is. I studied his and Mark's backgrounds. It is worth the study. What a great, great band!!!!!!

I've been fortunate to see them over 20 times since 2004 and twice this year alone. Love them. They make it look so easy. They walk out, and they all know their role and just feed off each other like its nothing. Insanenely amazing band

Myles Kennedy is a vocal GOD & one of the best & complete frontman ever. Didn't and still don't care for Tremonti in Creed days. But, in Alter Bridge with Myles, Tremonti is phenomenal. Love Myles' work with Slash & his Solo work. Blackbird is an epic tune.🤘🤘🤘

I can’t remember how I first heard this song…but I knew it was gold. Then years later I found a book in the library: “100 greatest Guitar Solo’s” something like that. I think it was in the top ten!

Mark never ages! Great Guitarist! Myles voice is great!

It's a badass song They performed this song with an orchestra and it sounds amazing. This is such a fabulous song.
