Fun fact: you used to be able to do it, but Hakita removed it because he thought it was broken (it was not) and it was only accessible through the No Weapons Cooldown cheat, now we have a proper method for doing it

This buff is great as it makes the alternate version truly a high risk - high reward weapon, as if you miss your shot, you're basically locked out of your pistol for a second (long time in the middle of a bloodbath) but if you can land your shots quickly enough it can do devastating damage

​@@thetaomegatheta if you're comparing slab body shots to normal revolver headshots then yes. otherwise, you're looking at 4 damage vs 2 - not accounting for the occasional extra pierce offered by the coin + the fact that you can blend a sharpshooter alt fire into the equation

I love how this update has very strong options that require a lot of skill to master. Considering how much time people already dedicate to the game it’s like a reward that suits how inherently replayable the game is

It's certainly got meme potential, but half the reason I use the Marksman is to quickly deal with the chaff enemies. If I want to hunt bigger game, I've got other options for that. Especially the forbidden pogo stick.

They added the cheesy hammer back in but made you work (ever so slightly) for it. If the glitch is really fun, make it a *balanced* feature.

This change feels so good. Base marksman is more versatile and effective I reckon, but I might start exclusively using the alt marksman because it’s just so fun now. Such a good update

I switched to slab marksman and never looked back since. Three slab revolvers are just SO much fun! Also, hitting the split window with the slabvolver deals more damage to a single target than a weak point coin shot with the default revolver. It's worse for multiple targets, sure, but if it's single target firepower you want, then the slab marksman got you covered!

Cool, can’t compare to splitting shots but still neat, looking forward to using it for damage for bosses though

I like how now we can coin spam more effectively with the alt now

I love the split shot mechanic with the normal revolver, but now its time i get my big iron back.

The buff also applies if you shoot the coin during the sing phrase and with another revolver's primary or alt fire

The sounds are so cool and the damage feels so good i love this and i hate that i have to think about whether i should use this or standard coin gun

I really never liked any other variant other than Slab Marksman so this is so good for me!

Okay, so, the slab marksman is REALLY good now. Consider this combo: Punch a coin into an enemy, and then shoot a coin in its split window. The coin punch deals 4 damage, while the revolver shot reflected off 2 coins, one of which at least in its split window, deals 6 damage for a total of 10 damage very minimal setup. Now, it is possible to hit both coins while they're in their split window, which will add another 2 damage to the 10 we already have, enough to kill a Virtue and a Sentry. It's not even as hard as it sounds, since it is easier to hit the split window of the punched coin. You're able to dish out a total of 24 damage by doing this combo twice to expend all 4 coins, just slightly less than a 4 split charged piercer shot, which deals 25 damage. Very good against bosses!

what i love about this change is how it doesnt change the fundamental stats of the slab revolver but introduces a new niche that can be incredibly useful i'm still going to do the basic shoot a fuckton of coins in the sky and pray for multikills with the normal marksman but its interesting to see the option present itself

playing early aces reaver toght me to revolver swap, now i dont regret learning this tech

Also whit the buff alt marksman is very useful in boos fights like minos prime Sisyphus or other things and default is useful in normal levels

thanks to sawed-on and jumpstart, i can finally run saw traps that have 3 different saw types in them (silver, overheat, chainsaw), so that will be great for multi target destruction. the dps potential from using all slabs thanks to this is great for high dps and long range damage. man this update rules

I can see this being a useful setup for bosses, but the multihit of regular marksman is just too essential for regular fighting imo.

Better than before. Its 21 (5.25 each) damage if you hit 4 split shots, so its nice to finish off swordsmachine after you beat on his kneeling and he's running around glowing red. V most enemies they're either so frail it doesn't matter (trash), have better ways to kill them (maurice, sniper) or so tanky it can't kill them fast (Cerberus), but its good for finishing off single near dead enemies. Not really a use case to make it worth using over default imo. Shooting all 3 guns > coin is lower DPS than shooting the coin itself considerably sadly; feels like the damage should scale with every succesful sped up shot or something. As is the higher effort way to use it is lower return.

I still want to use the reg Marksman because I'd rather get splitshots to deal with multiple smaller enemies that are out of reach.
