He definitely enjoyed it. The more I learn the more it seems he was a jealous guy. Even though he was good looking and charismatic it wasn't enough, he wanted to be the man. Possibly be was taking losses a lot (lots of people talk up the game they fail to mention the losses they take. It seems he wanted to rub out all the dealers he could so he could be the main man. Demencio, Rich, he tried with Az, Gary, Tank and more. Then he could have controlled a large portion of the business because lots of the people he killed were close to him. You can see how he is insecure about certain things because even after admitting to killink Rich, something many people think was son deplorable (not only because it was his "best friend" but also because it almost certainly meant the little boy would be killed too) he still felt the need to say "I managed to get the money back Rich was stealing from me by not pausing him for the bricks he gave me. Remember that money was supposed to go to get Rich brother back. He couldn't wait until the boy was back, instead he used it as the perfect time to kill Rich as he was vulnerable.

He had no reason to lie. He did a quarter of a century, in prison, because he told his story. The worst has happened. He was already in prison during this time. Why would he lie? This is precisely the reason I believe it.
