I went with the Tech 7 Enduro boots for one very important reason - when riding off-road you will encounter a scenario where you will either have to push or pull your bike in slick or muddy terrain, the tread on the Tech 7 Enduro will help you gain traction and not slip and twist your knee due to wearing a smoother soled Motocross boot. If that sounds like a somewhat specific example, it is and is the reason I bought the Tech 7 Enduro boot and threw my old motocross boots away.

@@SileX406coup, your English is excellent enough that now I understand perfectly. That is a tough situation, but I wonder if it's really necessary to be able to close/velcro that spot anyway. Yes, it would be ideal, and that's how it's designed, but once the rest of the boot is closed around your ankle, it might be hard to tell the difference if the velcro is connected or not if you have a nice thick sock (although a thick sock would add to the problem.) Or, maybe you can find a little velcro "extension" piece of 70-80mm or so to bridge that gap? Hope it works out.

Not a problem - waterproof boots are great until they’re not. To be clear, no boot is “completely” waterproof. Even if water does not get higher than the gaiter, the membrane will eventually wet-out/through. Once water makes its way into the boot, however it gets in there, the “waterproof” liner does a great job of keeping it in there because it (simply) does not allow the same air flow as a boot without a membrane. In my experience over several decades of riding and backpacking, non-waterproof boots breath better, waterproof boots (Gore-Tex or otherwise) take longer to dry out because of the lack of breathability. Not that MX boots breath that well to begin with, add the membrane and breathability is almost non-existent.

@@RIDEAdventures yes it should imo, but when the inner boot is put on, there's at least a 5cm gap between the "male and female" velcro parts making it impossible to close up. Unfortunately can't post photos here to show what I mean. Sry for the English, I'm from Germany 😇

The Tech 10 are not waterproof, is that not a problem?

Only if I don't have my Klim Covert Gore-Tex liners with me as we talked about in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmp-rKd_dJSwYdI.html

The cheaper ones that I can find... lol😂
Just deal with the squeaks and creaks? No thank you. Grab your can of chain wax, or any silicone based spray lube and lube away. After a few applications over a week or so all noise ceases and stays gone without having to do it again. This is my experience at least and was a game changer, hope it helps.

Interesting. Been a while since I tried, but all silicons, oils, etc. seemed to last about a week before return of the squeak. Maybe overdue to try again, and more frequently : ) Thanks.
More protection than tech3? I don’t think so!

Tech 3’s are for people who can’t afford tech 7’s and 10’s.
Tech 10 is the only boot I use now the tech 7 destroyed my foot when I bailed out on a step up on my way down the boot folded and the plastic went right through the soft part and crushed my foot and nearly destroyed the nerves there. Fox instincts were amazing until I over shot a 100 footer and my ankles folded pretty bad because there was no front resistance like there is on the tech 10s I’ve have zero complaints with the tech 10s except I did cut them with my two stroke but that was also my fault too I guess kicking it with my toe out 🤦🏻♂️ but yeah all in all tech 10s or nothing for me.

Yikes, hope recovery has gone well. Yea, protection sure can be appreciated more and more in the right moments.
Mine don't squeak, sounds more like a frog mating call
