Hi, it’s a great review and I bought one after watching. It’s an outstanding vest protector and has saved me from injury a good few times now. I do trail riding with a little enduro sections and falling off seem to be my thing for the past few months. It’s a bit pricey but folks, it really has saved me some medical bills.

Hey Chase thanks for all the great reviews. We really appreciate these. I had the opportunity to see this set yesterday while at the Tampa Supercross. What a great set. If any of you are on the fence this set of gear is exceptional. There was a lot of thought that has gone into this and I will be putting one on my son pretty soon. It is a good bit of money but this set is really just top of the line. When you look at all the little details of it you can tell someone has pretty much thought of everything. As far as the one shoulder strap you could always leave them buckled and put it on over your head as an option (I think). Again your guys videos are really well done. Thanks,

This would be a good option or the Bionic action jacket from Alpinestars. They won't give you as much abrasion protection as a good jacket, but they will still offer good protection. It might be worth checking out something like the Crosswind jacket. It's basically all mesh with CE rated armor in the back, shoulders and elbows. This protection jackets are a bit more work to get on and off, especially when you're sweaty. - Chase

To those it concerns: if you are hospitalized while wearing this, they will almost certainly need to cut it off. I am saying this because I had my suit cut off after a broken clavicle. I now use a roost guard and separate elbow pads that can be taken off the body without much arm movement to avoid that in the future, all without sacrificing protection. Other than that, these things are a convenient all-in-one protection package.

Hello Rocky Mountain team and community! I have this basic doubt about riding gear but can't find good information, can you help me? What about wearing a chest protector (As Alpinestar A6 or A10) riding a Big Trail in long distances (Example, Andes mountains 4000 miles, 80% on road, 20% off road). I'm trying to solve the problem of the heat in the desert, fresh jackets offer not enough protection and hard jackets (event with the vents open) are extremely hot. The solution could be wearing an A6 + Elbow guard (example), and alternate between 2 jackets according the climate (without the inside pocket protectors) . What do you think about it? Thanks a lot, sorry by the lil' english, I'm writing from Brazil. Tnx!

Hello! To answer your question, yes, you can wear a chest protector on your ride, however, chest protectors like the A6 or the A10 are not CE certified for abrasion. Abrasion protection is one thing that you give up by not wearing a good riding jacket.

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The chest protector DOES NOT stay in place, it moves up, WAY UP. As soon as you bend down and slightly forward (riding position on dirt bike) the chest protector comes up and jabs you right in the throat. The first time I bent down with this on I was shocked as I felt like someone karate chopped me right in my Adams apple. My throat still hurts 2 hours later as I'm writing this. I cannot imagine if I crashed and my head came forward, the chest protector could easily crush your windpipe. This should be pulled form the shelves immediately. Horrible design.

Care to elaborate on this issue? I'm really looking into this chest protector and I've tried in on in a shop. I can't see how the floating chest piece differs from any generic chest protectors (Like Leatt 3.5, Fox Raceframe etc) as they are all basically "floating". Combine any of those with a kidney belt (and an armored undershirt if we're being perfectionist) and you have essentially the same combo as what this Astars Bionic offers. I saw your comment about this matter on another similar video and I had to ask.

hummmm yes actually all these protections are "floating" and move. in fact what does guaranty the protections will be at the riht place when you fly and fall down? do researches go far enough? true for any jacket no? further protections do not wrap-up a body zone particularlly laterally where the injuries are worst. for instance on the photo we see clearly that the upper pectoral and the front deltoïd muscles are not protected in case of front schock with the mirror, screen or even the breaks. these muscles are part of the so critical shoulder! additionally protection do not add reinforcement to the body joints to avoid extreme extentions of them when impact is strong particularly in forest with tree branch. etc. etc. for all these reasons I stay sceptic... not enough studied?

@@turre1949 No, they're not. The chest piece on this Alpine Stars is free to move independent of the base layer. It can literally move in any direction like 5 inches. When you bend down, the bottom is pressed up by your stomach and unfortunately it moves up, right into your throat. It's not illustrated in this video at all. My Leatt 4.5 chest protector is the best one I have tried, and I've tried a lot. It's the most comfortable, doesn't just into your arms or chest, and stays where it's supposed to. I wear that with a Moose Racing armour shirt with the chest and back plates removed so I have shoulder and elbow protection in conjunction with the leatt 4.5. I also tried the new full Leatt 6.5 body protector, which is better than this Alpine Stars and the chest piece is independent of the body armour layer, however I returned it as I already have the 4.5, and the moose armour option was my favorite and most comfortable without being too hot.
