You have a mistake in tunnel length. Total length was 1,771.7 ft., according to Dow Helmers' book, "Historic Alpine Tunnel." The figure you show and state of 1,171.7 ft. was the length from the apex to East Portal. West portal to apex was 600 ft. 😊

Nice discussion gents, I'm busy making the route from Ohio city to Buena vista for Trainz sim , fascinating route. its hard to get accurate info on many of the mines for modelling purposes and I've yet to find a plan for the Pitkin coal tipple, but doing my best to do so. . Your tale re the clock face on the engine house explains why my 3d model maker added a clock face! hes obviously seen one of your kits !
