Some good drills there. I especially liked the warm ups without skis.

Отличные упражнения! Я их всегда делаю со своими хорошо катающимися студентами!

Ironically the ankles are the part which require least "activation" in skiing, due to the relatively stiff nature of ski boots. It's more the case that it's important to develop feel of forces on the feet and shins. Because skiing is the skill of balancing against the force of the hill, the parts which really require a lot of flexibility are the knees and most of all the hip joint, so that they can efficiently move your body mass to counteract the push from the boot.

The ankle join initiates the movements, it is the most important joint with the knee joint (and hip joint))

@@boahgeil465 the force that ankles can impart in a stiff boot is literally inconsequential. Of course it's important to have flexibility in the ankles, but skiing is inherently about balancing the body atop the heel.

In you first sentence, you hit the nail on the head. Then your knowledge of skiing ended, and you had to write some gibberish to continue. You lost all vision of what you do to allow the skis to turn, and your "Teaching" became totally disjointed.

@@boahgeil465 When you drive and steer your car, do you think about the steering rack or ball joints? No! You do what the car needs from you and the other parts do what they need to do automatically. It is the same for skiing. You position your upper body to face and lean down the hill and change your weight from your downhill to your uphill arch and all the other parts operate to allow the skis to turn when your momentum, gravity and the ski design create the turn.

@@agenthex It's incredible how you can combine some intelligent and accurate thoughts with complete and utterly ridiculous ones in one sentence. You need to, first of all, stop trying to Sound like you know what you are talking about with fancy words, then take what you think you know and start thinking about what I say and Then, you may start seeing the real picture of what skiing is. AND, when you respond to someone's teaching comments, keep yours focused on teaching instead of guessing who they are. When you do that, it shows that you are incapable of debating ski teaching.
