Thanks to the journalist team who kept respectful regarding every aspects, this is a very human documentary which does not shows the unavoidable sketchy parts (what some french channel did exclusively) it shows how hard mountain can be but never sound too dramatic neither sarcastic. It does not judge, shows enough , not too much, they have done like rescuers do, and by the way the watchers will learn without suffering too much pain, they wont keep too big scarves, will recover and they wont loose the ability of seeing mountains as a treasure of beauties.

PGHM, organised in 1958, is a specialist Gendarmerie unit trained and equipped for alpine search and rescue. Peloton de Genndarmerie de Haute Montagne flies AS 350 helicopters.

Technical climbers know their abilities. They plan and prepare and calculate. One may accuse them of being crazy but never unprepared or cocky. They also are not thrill seekers. One veteran French alpinist simply said, I remember that life is short and the mountain wants to eat me.

Some people are just asking for it. Like the old lady that haven't left home in 20 years. I guess she thought she became a rock climber over night. Or the man in the end. He is wearing tight for god sake. no crampons no jacket.. So much incompetence.

It's covered by French healthcare by way of taxes in part paid into by tourism dollars. As most tourists don't require medical aid, the system supports itself. And the country attracts more tourists (and their money) because they know they won't go bankrupt if they get hurt there.

WTF ?!? Why is this dude not wearing any pants? Did they come off when he fell ?? If so then, okay, I get it ! ... But ...his legs ain't all scratched up like you'd think they'd be if that were the case... Right?? ... ... SO ... ... This guy is just out day hiking in his Fruit Of The Loom "whitie-tighties" ?!?!? ... Ummm, that's not normal hiking attire is it ??!!?? I'm thinking NOT ... ? ... I guess maybe he could have given them to another pantless person ??!!?? ... Probably not HUH ?!? ... OK. ... Well, perhaps he crapped his pants when he fell and then disposed of them due to shame or stench ??? ... Now THAT'S possible !!! TWFM!! I'm going to tell myself that 'THAT' is the correct answer !! ... Otherwise I'm just going to be too weirded out about this situation !!! ... And BTW ... IMHO, I think that I'm more in shock from his no pants ordeal than he is from his accident ordeal ... ??? IDFK !!! ... Maybe ya just HTBT ?? Irregardless Dude it'd STBY ...
