Went backpacking to a high mountain alpine lake in the search for Golden Trout, and I found what I was looking for! The route was treacherous but worth it in the end! Caught several Golden Trout on the fly rod!

Thanks for such awesome feedback!!
Thanks for sharing, I was a little worried when you got to that summit! It was so worth it when you pushed through and got to the lake! We love the Alpine Lakes Wilderness also! Not sure if that's where you were! All the best! :)

Thank you for watching! I was worried when I got up there too! Lol
Nice trip! We just did that last year as well. Except we took a helicopter. Best money I ever spent. Because the hike is about 6 miles and 3000' elevation gain and 6 plus hours for someone 30 years younger then me. Our lake is above the tree line at 8000' and on the eastern slopes so can get very windy so we didn't overnight. Our goldens in the lake were 4-8" and hard to catch. What saved us was going up the inlet stream to the base of a waterfall. There were spawners there with twice the colors as the lake fish. Just beautiful. I managed a 10" for the biggest fish of the day. Your fish were fatter being down lower and in a milder climate. I miss my hiking days as we have many high mountain lakes with cutthroat in beautiful locations. Now I can only do about a 4 hour return hike and live to tell about it. Hope to do another one this year.

Nice walk. As they say in skiing, you earned your turns.

Oopsy!!! Lol
Decent little fish for such a remote lake. That ridge traverse would have been sketchy, reminds me of a spot I was on in Chelan County area few months ago.

Thank you!
Could of at least made the location more discreet vs showing the trailhead in the beginning. Just saying. It's not good to blast sensitive fisheries like this.

First of all, the TH sign did not show the name, nor did I say the name in my video. Secondly, the WDFW, lists what is stocked in every lake and is public information. Thirdly, even if I showed my exact GPS route, 99% of people wouldn’t even be able to make it there because of how arduous and dangerous it is to get there. So can’t say that I really blasted this. I do appreciate your heartfelt care of our fisheries though, so I guess props to that at least.
