ALPINE EAR PLUGS - How to reduce wind noise in your motorcycle helmet - 4K Review | Bikerheadz.co.uk

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Beej reviews Alpine ear protection; many motorcyclists think that they are already adequately protected against hearing damage by wearing a motorcycle helmet. Unfortunately, even with a helmet on, you risk getting a permanent ring in your ears. The higher the speed of your motorcycle, the more you suffer from wind noise under your helmet. Logically, this means that you can damage your hearing sooner at high speeds.

I endorse this. I too have tried everything from foam, to custom molded, to every kind of silicone. These are by far the best. Like Beej, I can wear them for 8 or 10 hours at a time with no discomfort. I couldn't do that with any others.

The Race ones are great for open face helmets and noisy full face helmets. I have found the Tour ones are ok for low speed around town type riding but for long rides at higher speeds go with the Race.

I have tried these in the past, I think before they started to use the plastic piece on the plugs themselves, and I found that the race ones offer next to no noticeable noise isolation. Whilst I am planning on trying out some custom ear plugs, the best success I had had have been with Howard Leight Lite disposables and the Auritech plugs. They may have improved since I tried them but the low reduction numbers make me a bit dubious, even with my Schuberth E1 without the peak, the Auritechs don't offer enough for long or faster journeys

I have just got back into riding after many years away. Normally i hate, hate, hate, earplugs, but over-ear muffs aint gonna work with a helmet! Bought the Pro set and am very pleased. They are easy to fit, stay put, and my bike at 120 kph passing a truck is quieter now, than it was at 100 without them. I can hear cars and my motor much better. Thats just using the Tours on a 30 minute, mostly open road/ motorway commute. Recommended!

I liked this one, thanks a lot. Now I’m testing the Tour right now and it feels like they are indeed dampening the Musik and Communication quite a bit. I’m using a Sena SC2 and have to turn it up to almost full volume (so much that the incoming coms actually trigger my microphone) to hear properly. I’m going to test it again on a ride today, currently I’d definitely wear them for longer fast riding, e.g. on Motorways or stuff, but I’m not sure if I’m willing to take up with this on small everyday rides where we’re just chatting away and are riding fairly slow.

Nice detailed informercial ;-) Might give those a try, although not sure about the red protrusions. I've been using things called EarDial which are very similar, but don't have any 'sticky out bits'. Much easier to don your helmet without disturbing them. Have used the EarDials for playing drums and listening to pub bands, as they too just attenuate everything by about 23dB so you can still hear the full audio spectrum.

I've been using the Tour for two weeks now and I'm rather disappointed (riding a maxiscooter). Very poorly protect against noise even at a speed of 70 km / h. the only plus is relatively easy application. I'm looking for different plugs.

they are hyped. I used all kind of ear plugs over 25 years. those are belove average. it is difficult to put in, cutting like pain in the canal, not good sealing also easily moving from the position that was difficult to achieve at first place and this is before wearing the helmet !. tour is useless, race is lets say good for 15 mins at best. foam type is the best, save your bucks, just find the proper size, brand for yourself. I just experienced alpines again while watching this, hoping that my memory is fooling me. sitting and writting this now with disturbing pain in my ear canals :)
