Alpha Shave Dad Aluminum Head Shave - Bay Rum?!

Come join me for a nice head shave with the Alpha Shaving Outlaw in Aluminum. This is the Shave Dad version that I picked up recently and have been enjoying for head shaves. It cuts my face up a bit, but it's beautiful and works great on my head. I also debut the first version of Collette Classic CC2 Spiced Orange and Bay Leaf (or Cedar?). What a great shave!

You wouldn't be the first to call a soap Bay Rum without Clove.

Thayers works really well for me. I occasionally get a few breakouts but they're not that bad

I like the way you think! 😂 I’ve been doing the same with the Italian barber site waiting for their sales

CC1 is also for people who want to make shipping free, but not double up on CC2 soaps.

Well crap, I ordered too early 😆 I'll pick up the bay rum eventually as well! It's a conundrum with the razor cutting you so much on the face shaves. I don't think it would be the weight because you have been using aluminums for a while now. Might be possible that the angle the razor likes isn't your usual comfort zone? On a side note, I wanted to grab a razor and reach into the screen to shave the long hair on the right side of your face! 🤣 I'm still deciding what razor to do the first head shave with, but I'm leaning towards the titanium ones. And there should be more than enough slickness with either cc1 or cc2. Not sure what that guy used to straight shave, but your soap has more than enough slickness. Maybe he was shaving with a dull razor? I'm still on the Gem razor kick and even considered doing the first head shave with it. So far I'm on eight shaves with the same blade and it's still sharp. Out of all of them, the Gem 1912 and the Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf are the smoothest with great efficiency. I have a feeling I'll buy the new Blackland Sabre coming out with the new plate system. Imagine getting 10-30 shaves out of a single blade. It might be more economical than the standard de blades. I probably would have hit the 10-20 use mark on the blade, but I have to spread the love between the razors. I look forward to trying out the new soaps, especially the bar soaps. I've been using liquid body wash for years and I'm curious if artisan bar soaps are much better. Just an idea, but maybe have some scrubs, sponges, or luffas on the site to go along with the bar soaps!

Maybe it was or maybe it was the perfect time 😉 just to clarify, it isn’t cutting me up so much as overly irritating me. You could be right about the angle, but I definitely feel that I’ve found the “sweet spot” with it. Who knows, and I suppose we’ll see in the morning! I think the lighter the razor is, the better for head shaves. Holding a heavy razor up, down, and around can definitely get to you. Seems like no big deal, and it isn’t really, but lighter is better in my opinion. I bet the gems will work perfectly actually because of the stiffer blade, and the increased durability you mentioned. I feel sometimes a DE blade starts dulling a bit by the end of a head shave. Regardless of his procedure or whatever, I appreciate his honest feedback, and won’t start being a company that hides or deletes negative reviews. We all need to know that it’s POSSIBLE to have a bad experience. Whether that’s user error, a bad product, or simply circumstance. I don’t feel the same way as him, but that doesn’t make that experience of his any less real. I’ll see what I can do with my cook and cure process to eliminate any possible issues that may have caused what made him experience that! Constant improvement is the goal! I know the hairs you’re talking about… I couldn’t stop staring at them when I was editing… yikes! Thanks for the love Vaughn!

I’ve heard about that blackland and it did look really appealing actually! It may be the route I end up going for my GEM purchase. Let us all know how it goes!
